I'd personally take almost any publisher, that includes EA. I understand why you say this and I hope it won't be them but I still want the game back enough to where I'd grit my teeth through that.

As long as said publisher didn't demand nerfing EVERYTHING that ensured healers were not needed i'd be fine.  Honestly thats my biggest concern, because thats a big trend is a form of executive meddling where they think a game should play like WoW when it's already popular cause it doesn't play like WoW.  I hate how in CO healers are needed for some content now for so many reasons, it's why I hadn't played at all since this thread has come about with the news it has.

Yeah, we could end up with some publisher that made a certain game....that objectified women to much...and played like an especially unninovative mmo that made people fall asleep or played the game for them....eh you know what I mean.

Maybe this is just my uneducated interpretation...but I was under the impression that if NCsoft knew of the existence of a still surviving/dedicated/etc CoH community it could potentially drive up the price of negotiations. Maybe it doesn't matter at all or maybe it would actually help the cause. But from what I've read it sounded like it would more likely hurt our overall goal.

If NCSoft doesn't know of the continued existence of the CoH community (even without the continued existence of CoH), then they've been deliberately keeping their head in the sand for the past year and a half.  Their official Facebook, notably, is still constantly deluged with people demanding that CoH be brought back.

It baffles and angers me that NCSoft could or would see CoH's continued popularity and think "this property is still popular and desired, so we should drive up the selling price" instead of "this property is still popular and desired, so we should start the game back up again"

I know personally - I feel the folks making the effort are the right people trying to do the right thing. It is just one of those times when things just seemed to be - right.

The one thing I really don't want people to forget is if the game is secured it will require some time to get all the resources in place to open it for service. It won't be on Wednesday we get the game and Monday morning it is in service. There is quite a lot of work to be done if it is acquired.

That doesn't mean the time in between isn't a lot of fun. :) If we get an announcement that the game is coming back, then every day until it does will be filled with a wonderful anticipation. Sure, the launch day won't come fast enough, but just knowing that it's really really coming back will be enough to tide me over.
