You forgot to give the player more fingers and facial articulation.

CO has pretty bad facial articulation though, and the hands and fingers are a little disproportionate.  Not a fan of the outlines, honestly CoX's art style was comic like but in a darker sense, which I liked, compared to CO's ultra bright black and white style of appearance(not litterally) and story.  "X group is 100% evil and y group is 100% pure good and every single group is one or the other" is something of a feeling even down to the art style of CO, while CoX allowed for the longbow guy to have some scars on his face, showing he actually saw some carnage, or the green-horn lookin arachnos soldier who probably hasn't done a crime in his life before joining arachnos nore even saw any combat.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Exactly. CoH was rather campy at times but I could take its lore and setting seriously.

Same here, even though I kept an amount of my canon separate of CoX, it was a game setting I could take seriously.  I didn't see any kind of rampant mary sue problems that I see in CO, in that everyone suddenly becomes incompetent around the player character in the missions.  I still remember the day it dawned on me that the npcs and all that worshipped the player character like characters do a sue, especially since in an mmorpg, unless your a roleplayer, there isn't really any kind of character development(in terms of mentality and personality, i'm not talking about power level).  CO just wasn't serious enough.

City of heroes was more balanced in that, at low levels, everyone knew you were some newbie.  As you did more and saved the world a few times the npcs began to respect ya(or fear ya if you were doing evil deeds instead).  At the highest levels, that was when you started to really kick butt, take names and people really recognized you as a big name, not right off the bat at the very beginning of the game when your just a lowly street fighter attacking thugs.

Course I wouldn't want content where i'm forever the sidekick either(DCUO), go figure :).

LOL. Yahtzee made the same comment in his review of DCUO. A review where he also briefly praised City of Heroes!

Also, the "Statesman's Pal" story arc was what it was all about. WORKING for that praise.

Regarding a "new look", if someone buys it, they could just as easily decide to take the art style in an entirely different direction. Might be easier than recreating the entire game in something like Unreal, which, make no mistake, would be effectively the same as rewriting it.

Aaaaaa!

I didn't know something could be funny and scary at the same time.

Yeah it came out a lot more direct than anticipated. The SEGS guy has some knowledge in servers, too. Oddly, he's not getting any hassle from NCsoft from it. Surprises me there aren't more servers. It may be the costs of running one.

I was under the impression there was some hassle when SEGS first started, and that even if there wasn't, the version SEGS is working is Issue 4, or something, which is so far behind that it's not worth pursuing action against.

100% true review, sidekick mode pretty much and the game really does kill willing suspension of disbelief, and takes way to much control of your theme.

Didn't realize that was a video. I prefer just to spend a minute or so reading what someone has to say then 5 minutes watching them say it.

Dude, trust me, you want to watch it.

Ok, I'll watch it. But a 30 second commercial in front doesn't endear me to web videos. Sites are already covered with adverts. I usually won't watch anything that I have to buy into blind and have to pay for first with an ad. Just a personal thing and a sore point. I would gladly pay $50.00 a year to not have any pop-ups, commercials or crappy ads on the sites I visit.

But I digress

Yes, it is pretty funny and does sum up how I felt about the game (Which I am a freaking lifetime subscriber to)

Maybe you're unlucky - I didn't get one.

That would not shock me in the least, but probably it's some stupid setting or my stupid browser or my stupid slow computer or because they know I hate advertising.

The Extra Punctuation column is good, too. I never got around to looking for the one that goes with the linked video.
I wouldn't use the word "replace," but there's no word for "take over for you and make everything better almost immediately," so we just say "replace."

That black outline reminds me of CO, which I never liked the look of.

I dunno, CO did that, offered lifetime, and it commited suicide financially.

To be fair, CO wouldn't have fared any better without the lifetime sub offering. There was just way too much wrong with that game.

Honestly? I'd rather the game stay dead then be bought by EA.

I hope I don't have to explain why, but will if it's not obvious.

I'd personally take almost any publisher, that includes EA. I understand why you say this and I hope it won't be them but I still want the game back enough to where I'd grit my teeth through that.
