kMeter, what is it?

I was looking at the entry for Stalker Spines power Ripper.

It contains this passage:

85.08 Lethal Damage (10% chance) if ((source kMeter < .9) and ((target is held) or (target is asleep)))

What is kMeter?  I don't know what this means.

i believe it's the variable for the "Hidden" status
