Im not a super tech kinds of guy when it comes to computers.. some things I grasp and some things I dont.. Unfortunately I didnt think to save all my costumes files when CoH went down. I did make Sentinel+ copies of everything.

I really want to rebuild my characters as they were but I dont understand the Sentinel section on costumes. Was there ever a program written to make that info into a costume file? I remember Tony V saying he thought this could be done but i dont see where anything became of it.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the exact costumes. scales or colors of my toons.. I reallu would love to rebuild them as they were..

any help would be appreciated..

Thanks

TonyV

We actually talked about this on Save CoH Radio last week.  I think Guy might be joining us this week too, since we had some technical issues last time, so tune in this Friday and grill him about it.  :)

Pogoman always posts an announcement for the show over in the Save Paragon City forum.

I had thought of doing something like this, but at the time for inserting characters into videos and not as a character costume file.

This website, http://demolition.mcuznz.ca/, will accept your sentinel+ file and create a demo file from it.  From that demo file, you could harvest the costume description for use in other demo files.  It isn't quite what I'm looking for.

Which is why I shelved the project.

Like I said, I'd contribute to a bounty to close the loop on this.

If you go to the link for a particular night's show after it's aired, you can listen to it as a recording. It's great for catching it later when you've got the time. :)

I wont be able to get on to ask this question.. I hope someone here can ask it for me.. It would be great if this could happen.. somehow importing Sentinel+ into Icon to load my old costumes exactly would be awesome..

This is a good idea. I was fortunate that I routinely saved my costumes so I have almost all of them including variants but there were a few i missed.

That said, I suspect it would only have the last costume worn, none any alternates. So like my toon, Monster Squad, who had 5 monster forms and one human form, it would only be the last one he was wearing.

Sentinel+ xml files contain all of the costumes that character had when the program was run, whether the slot was active or not.

I'm really grateful for Senticon, as I got 8 out 13 costumes from 4 characters.

I am wondering if there is an option in Senticon to let it show which costume pieces caused an error that prevented Senticon from extracting that costume. In the hopes that I could manually delete them in the XML files and correct the .costumes in Icon.

Or is there way to figure out from looking at the file which costume piece it was originally and manually put it in?
