Hollywood learned you can't toss more villains at a sequel to up the stakes so now they're going to try adding heroes and see what happens in the box office.  It worked for Avengers.  WB wants a $2B (I rounded) worldwide blockbuster.

I'm starting to think that it's going to bomb hard core.

The Rock as John Steward? :o
He doesn't even look like Black Adam anymore... in the last Fast and Furious he reminded me more of Bane (muscle wise that is).
But it's good news that Reynolds won't reprise his GL role, he always was more of a Flash type anyway.
I'm bad and that's good.
I'll never be good and that's not bad.
There's no one I'd rather be than me.

...unless I could be Batman, of course. Everybody wants to be Batman.

Sadly the quality of the movie is irrelevant.  Enough people will probably see it when it first comes out they will still make a decent profit.  After all these days it doesn't matter if the movie is good or bad.  All that matters is enough people go pay to see it opening weekend.

I am currently hoping that anyone besides Superman and Batman aren't actually in it and these are just rumors being passed around gaining speed like the Bryan Cranston playing Lex Luthor(which would be so awesome)

I feel about the same with Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan as I did with Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker: screwed by their scripts.

And no I won't be turning in my Nerd Card. You'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands!

I'm guessing that they will all meet towards the end of the movie which would allow the JL movie that's rumored to be filmed just after.  So it's natural to cast everyone now, but that doesn't mean that their rules will be anymore than a cameo in the SvB movie.

I'd love to see Nathan Fillion playing Hal Jordan at some point.  But that's partially because he's done such a good job each time he's voiced the character in an animated feature.

For all we know these casting rumors, even if they pan out, are for a cameo at the end. Also rumored is that WB wants to shoot BvS and JL back to back, released a year apart like the Hobbit and LotR movies. So all these casting decisions might be gearing up for a soon to be shot JL.

I think DC has to go different from Marvel here. Yes, Marvel's formula on slowly building their shared universe worked fantastically, but if DC aped that formula exactly every single move would be panned as DC copying Marvel. By spring-boarding their biggest heroes in one (or 2) big movies then heading out to solo films, they at least break new ground which I applaud. After years of basing the DC universe solely on Batman I'm glad to see that WB is ready to move.
