Giant Monster Heads up.

Today I logged out purposely at Qwyjibo's spawn point so that once the new patch was finished I could finally fight him. When I showed up there was another player there by the name of Basilisk already fighting him. Having never gotten a chance at him in over a year I sprung into action and fought him too. I, like every other player, had every right to play and fight that monster for the rewards and perks from him, but as soon as the fight was over this guy mocked me in local, for what I can assume was interrupting his "private farming" and ran off to hoard the dinosaur GM.

I'm shocked and frankly a bit appauld by the selfishness I keep meeting in this game. Where we all used to share GM spawns and missions, CO players seem to keep info a secret and hoard it all to themselves. I don't think that's right, from my understanding they have extra long respawn timers and many players miss out on them cause the same people farm them and keep their times to themselves.

That being said I've decided I wanna do my part for my fellow CoX's, to give them a fighting chance at the GM's by starting this thread. If we're also part of the CoX group in CO, I'd love for this info to be shared and see us help each other here like we did there. As such, I'm hoping others who have played longer than I will come forward and tell everyone here their respawn times.

For myself so far, I can only offer than Qwyjibo was defeated today around 10:24 AM  to 10:26 AM and the dino soon after, to help us pin down when they'll get back and maybe we can get an little GM even going like the old days. :D For some of us, this is our home now til CoT, we should have fun in it too.
Please don't send blind requests in games to me, I learned to ignore them in CoX, no offense meant. (this is only here until I can figure out how to put it in my actual profile on here.)

Update: The server just went down again, I went to log out near him again and as soon as they bring it back up I will repost the new defeat times.

Meh, the level of selfishness in CO is really not worse than the level found in COX.

From team leaders only doing their own missions to progress their own storyline to expecting everyone to play their way and build their way, to being barked at for interupting a group's farming campaign in COX. And when someone complained about it in COX, they were immediately flamed and or told to "stop whining" or accused of making it up to cause trouble.

It just seem that now ya on the business end of it and hopefully it opens the eyes to the feeling those players in COX that went through that felt like when being on the business end of it.

Hopefully though you get to beat him and not have to go through that stuff again but also this is a humbling experience to other COX players and they gain an understanding of many people they flamed and said were "whining" had to go through and this time in the new games instead of being negative about it and blaming/flaming the victim, they target the bad behavior instead even if it is their own inner circle member, friend or popular person that is behaving like that person you just described.

For the hunters, Qwyjibo can be found at Echinocos Shores, Monster Island (-194 255 4332).

Teleiosaurus can be found at Slither Beach, Monster Island.

Kigatilik is at Lynx's Fold, Canadian Wilderness (-2821 666 3561).

I've seen some of that, we weren't saints by any stretch. But I was on Triumph. We had a few global channels devoted to sharing missions, AV's, badge missions, and GM's. I'd just like to see that here in CO, and this is my small contribution to it, helping to share what I know so other CoX players will have a chance.

My mind instantly went to the Ocean of Tears in EverQuest, where the Ancient Cyclops lives.

The AC, who is a rare spawn, will give up his Ring of the Ancients as his rare loot, which is the toughest part of getting the fabled Journeyman's Boots. Jboots are a clicky that give you what was once a fairly coveted runspeed buff as well as being a decent outdoor insta-clicky (can even click them while running) to help re-clog up your buff box in raid fights with debuffers.

Anyway, one time me and the missus were on a marathon camp in OoT, where we had claimed camp since at least 24 hours straight. I think our record was ~ 36 hours and all our toons had to have Jboots. We were kinda veterans at the camp I guess. There were rules. Whoever had the spawn camped, for example, had it camped and it was theirs until they left and when they did leave there was generally a list of people behind them that got first dibs based on who was still left online and who was first in line of those ppl.

Finally, fiiiinally, we rub our eyes to be sure, and sure enough, Mr. AC pops. It wasn't even 3 seconds later that a dps popped (logged on). I was on my Cleric, she was on her slow-building dps necro. We had agro, we had the mob snared, all he had to do was burn it down, and he did, and promptly got lucky, looted the rare drop from the rare spawn, and away he went to start his playing day.

OK, so, I also walked 10 miles in the snow, uphill both ways, to get to school and back.

Welll,,, I know we camped that thing for 36 hours straight at least once and 24 more than once..

The time in question appears to have been 'only' 12, and, the missus was on her newbie wizard on this run. I would take my cleric to charge for resses at other places in the zone in-between pops.

good stuff. Maybe it will catch on and spread that there is more than enough for everyone. Plus when ya help someone, they might know something you didnt know or wouldnt have known otherwise, and so on.

Ok kids, here's the new timers:

Qwyjibo at about 4:20 PM CST

Teleiosaurus at about 4:25 PM CST

And Kigatilik at about 4:31 PM CST

Now I'm NOT sure how long it takes for them to respawn, I'll try to keep track if I can and if anyone knows I'd be grateful if they'd add to this discussion so we can plan some group GM hunts together. :D

UPDATE: It seems that Qwyjibo is on a 8 to 9 hour timer, I'm currently testing this to confirm it.

Spawns also happen when a copy of the instance is created. Overflow the first one and you can make the bosses pop in a new one.

That is very true, but it would take a lot of people to push that to happen.
