Just finished watching it on Netflix and I enjoyed it more than Smallville at least.  But I have a list of exclamations to throw out.  In no particular order:

Oh look, Benny the vampire!
Oh look, Captain Jack Harkness!
Oh look, John Crichton!
Oh look, that agent from Fringe!
Oh look, the time traveling founder of Eureka!
Oh look, immortal guy from Heroes!
Why is it StarLING City?!
Why is he blonde when they first show him on the island, but as soon as he's home he's dark haired?
Why is Deathstroke's mask yellow?
Someone was going to Central City and they'd "be there in a Flash"?  Really?
Lyla's codename just had to be Harbinger?
How come Huntress can have a proper mask but Ollie can't?  Would it make it too hard to reveal his identity to every other person?
Why does Ollie have to kill so many people?
Was that Idris Alba, where have I seen him before?
Was that Kano from the Mortal Kombat web series?
Bludhaven seems to have become an apartment complex and relocated itself away from Gotham.
I hope that white haired chinese woman isn't supposed to be Shiva.

Alright, just had to get that off my chest.
When you insult someone by calling them a "pig" or a "dog" you aren't maligning pigs and dogs everywhere.  The same is true of any term used as an insult.

I would like to know that too.

More sunlight to bring out his highlights on the island. :)

I think it's just the lighting in the scene.  It's orange in other shots.

His weapon is a bow and arrow; a lethal weapon.  They're also using a more recent version of the character that eschewed trick arrows in favour of violence.  I like the blend of trick arrows (but not too goofy) with plain old lethality.  By shedding some blood early (presumably for some really bad guys) it makes his later visits easier; the bad guys just do what he says so he doesn't kill them.

Wikipedia says no.

She's China White apparently; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_White_%28comics%29

You forgot

Oh look, Harry Dresden.

It confirms my believe that their is a SciFi/Fantasy Rolodex of actors that all production companies who film in Canada have.

As for "I hope that white haired chinese woman isn't supposed to be Shiva.", she's not.

"Was that Idris Alba, where have I seen him before?" - Don't think so.  Too pricey for a CW show.

Did you cringe when you first heard Thea's nickname, Speedy.  There's a lot of little call outs like that.  Like Roy Harper in a red hoodie.

Not so much a cringeworthy moment for me as a WTF moment.

I was once being interviewed by Barbara Walters...In between two of the segments she asked me..."But what would you do if the doctor gave you only six months to live?" I said, "Type faster." - Isaac Asimov

Oh look, Harry Dresden.

I also forgot Gunther (or was it just "Gunn"?) from Angel.

Well she did have a drug problem.  It wasn't as much WTF as little call outs to the comics since I was sure they weren't going to follow any of the stories particularly close.

Ollie also makes this quip: "You know us billionaire vigilantes, we do love our toys" which, in-universe, probably meant nothing, but we all know it's crack about Bruce/Batman.
