Is there an ignore feature?

Yep. Click on "Profile" in the nav bar at the top of the page. Then "Modify Profile" -> "Buddies/Ignore List..." -> "Edit Ignore List".

I'd recommend against ignoring other users, though. If they're genuinely disruptive, they'll be moderated sooner or later. Otherwise, ignoring them just keeps you out of the loop when they do make posts worth posting. I've seen people make quite the fools of themselves by ignoring other users, and they generally come across as angrily jumping to conclusions.

That's the weird thing about an ignore function. If you just dont want to put up with someone because they're bugging you personally, you're pretty much stuck ignoring the entire conversation or inadvertently annoying everyone else involved.

If I ignore someone, will I just not see any evidence of their posts at all, or will I still at least see something I can click on if I choose to (like the way the official forums worked)?

You'll still see their post. However, their post will be replaced by this:

You are ignoring this user. Show me the post.

You can click on "Show me the post." to see what they posted.

Note that ignoring a user is not permanent. Toss someone on it and see how it works. If you don't like it, remove them from your ignore list. :)
