I've seen a great many funny things on CoX over the years, many of which revolve around hilarious player-creations. Two spring to mind immediately:
* A character made using the "huge" template, wearing a T-Shirt, short-shorts, and slippers, wearing a plain, white helmet one could describe as "special". His name? "Danger To Self"
* A whole team of huge, blonde dudes wearing tank-tops, and all sporting one of the MANY names of David Ryder from an episode of MST3K. Their names, Fridge Largemeat, Slake Fistcrunch, Punch Rockgroin, Slate Slabrock, Crunch Buttsteak, and Smoke Beefmuscle. As they gathered in Atlas around Lady Liberty, they began to loudly talk of going off to punch lesser men, VERY heterosexually. I think a newbie or two decided to beat-feet and fled the scene *lol*
I have screen-caps of the second group on the list, should anyone wish to see the spectacle for themselves. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have one for "Danger To Self" :D
I get a big chuckle still from the Deth Kiks bio
Fluffy McGiggles. I forget his AT, but he was a Huge body with butterfly wings, in rainbow colors, dancing on one of the corner platforms under the statue of Atlus.

The funniest thing?
Seeing "Smokey Robinson" superhero superjumping from the transit station. Dressed rather nattily as if he was going to go on stage.
He was taking a break from his singing career.
i really loved that bug back in the day when all the council hoverbots and the rikti drones would just keep exploding until they disappeared.
that was one of my fav all time bugs.
i remember getting that one council mission that was all hoverbots and get several of them at a time have fun with it.
man i really do miss that. i used to crack up everytime.
i remember a couple of toons that kinda stuck out. i dont remember what the 1st one looked like, but his toon name was Poop Finger.
the 2nd toon was called Grandpa Man. i laughed when i saw both of them.
I logged out one night up on the spire in Ouro where the marker was to get access to the Ouro portal power. When I logged in next time a character looking exactly like Frankenstein was standing by me. Just totally cracked up me.
The Rikti soldier falling off the operating table during a "super serious" operation in the Vanguard base.
The zombie support group billboard in Kings Row.
Never saw it first hand, but there was a story I read on the forums about a character named EULA Man, who flew around and called out copyright infringing characters. Great stuff.
A few of them:
One character hanging around under Atlas statue dressed in prison stripes talking incessantly on a cellphone. Toon name: Paris Hilton
One character (I can't find the screenshot) was a fire blaster. His bio said his powers came from eating bean burritos, and advised heroes teaming with him to carry a roll of toilet paper.
The best one: busty female character costumed in steampunk theme, looking very much like a Wild-West brothel madam. Toon name: Westward Ho.
There was Dr. Forrester (from MST3k) right next to the Aeon Bulding in Grandville that was pretty spot on.
There was good old Jenkins from the original Breakout Cov Tutorial...."I'll never give up the name of <your villain name>"
There was the Frostfire bit where one of his cronies parrots him ("yeah!") and Frostfire turns arounds, says "shut up" and ices him.
Possibly the funniest was anything Flambeaux said in the new Twinshot/Shining Stars intro story arc.
One Time as A character I made called Action Bastard..whom looked like Action Bastard from Shin Chan.
Got a Dance Party going with like 13 people at atlus park a month ago.

Case in point:
I once was on a mission against the Family, on a Kin/Electric Brute. One of the Kin brute's powers is Repulsing Torrent, which is long ranged, a targeted cone, and delivers ridonkulous levels of knockback, especially slotted for additional knockback. I had fun with it.
One Button Man, he had his back to me, standing around punching his fist. It was an Office map. Above me, a balcony. Ahead, a wall separating the hallway we were in from a breakroom with a vending machine.
I say hello in the form of Repulsing Torrent. Button Man goes flying, gets stuck in the wall for a moment. I run over to hit him, but he pops out of the wall, and somehow gets launched about fifteen feet into the air, onto the railing of the balcony, where he lays for a while, doing about 3 barrel rolls in the process.
He finally comes to 'rest' and starts to get up, but the animation of getting up causes him to fall off the balcony. He lands head-first and gets stuck in the floor, like a cartoon ostrich.
Now, I'm laughing my rear off here, but I have a demonic idea. I didn't let him get up. I decided to launch him at the wall again, using Repulsing Torrent. If you thought it was funny up until now, you haven't heard anything yet.
The Button Man hits the wall and glitches through. The glitching physics squeeze him like a grapeseed out of the other side of the wall, and he careens head-first into the vending machine, positioned just perfectly so his head looked like it had been jammed into the dispenser slot, with his body slumped behind it.
I cackled so hard that I fell out of my chair, and couldn't get to the screenshot key fast enough to screenie it before the mafioso got up, sadly.
Still, I smacked an overdressed goon through a wall and into a vending machine. Consider that one written off my bucket list.
Waaaaaaaaay back in 2005 or so I remember meeting a tanker called "nude man," whose only costume piece consisted of a beige speedo.
Dr. Aeon in general.
"I will be ImmortAAAAAGH!"
Funniest things from game content for me have to include cutscenes such as the Clockwork King's plan to protect Penelope Yin from IIRC " ...heroes, villains, boys... You'll be my little Clockwork Princess forever!"
In-game, lots of funny things, but my fave is still my pal @kavik (maybe on his Capt Kentucky tanker) in a rescue mission telling the NPC in local "Come with us if you want to live!" and by god it was hilarious when the NPC immediately jumped to it to follow him out. He'd gotten the timing just right!
The Striga Isle Nut Punch. From the first day I saw it, all the way to the end of the game, it never failed to make me laugh.

Particularly the occasional effect where (like the clips interspersed in the end credits of the movie
Buffy the Vampire Slayer), a defeated mob would lie there twisted up... then spasm into a new position... again... and again, like a movie extra who couldn't stay still as a corpse, until they finally faded out. And I'll have to go back through my screenshots and see if I can dig up some of my old "entertaining corpse position" images.
I remember running into the "Little Old Woman" patrol as I called them. 2 identical toons dressed up as little old ladies, named "Grandma Betsie" and "Grandma Edith"
Loved em so much we named our cat after Edith.

But to me the funniest thing I ever saw was, and you had to hunt him down, the King of Skulls. He was in King's Row, hiding behind one of the buildings, usually between one of the long ones and the War Wall along the side that connected to Skyway. A Skull that actually got away with a purse. He was there, clutching it tightly, looking around in complete paranoia and muttering "I can't believe I got away with it." Poor bastich was so surprised about getting the purse I never saw him actually look inside.
A small orange man in white pants named Supa Dupa Oompa Loompa...
And a Ninja Mastermind whose name was something like "I'm being followed" and his bio stated that he was just a pizza delivery guy who (for some reason completely unknown to him) was being followed by Ninjas that would jump out and protect him whenever he got into trouble.

Happy Lobotomy reminds me of "Capt Colorblind". Poor guy needed help coordinating his wardrobe. He was so radiant I'm sure he Stunned and debuffed Def and ToHit. In addition to whatever else his powers did.
One of my favorite characters to run into on Triumph back in the day was Naked Mole Rat. Huge, pink, ran around in underwear, and could improvise conversations for hours on end with everything coming from him sounding like it came straight from a Tick comic. He was always good for a laugh and guaranteed to brighten our day.

I remember this one time I was on an ITF, and we decided to hit the console and both the AV's up top at the same time, and all of the meks wound up activating at the same time, I don't know how. Anyway, needless to say the three tanks in the party had their hands full for a while. It was a hoot.
I also remember a team where I faceplanted pretty soon after the front door, and someone said, "Wait, don't hospital! You're the new team mascot!" He then proceeded to recall me around the map for vengebait, all the while I was cheering from the floor. He'd shout something like, "Hold on, we need to get fired up for this one!" then recall me with venge q'd up, and then shout, "Yeah! Team spirit!" That was a good team.
I also remember an ITF where Heat Guard and I were keeping count of our dirt naps. He wound up ahead by six, in the end, although I'll be damned if I remember how. Probably just dove straight into the exploding crystals, the cheater.

Although I still think the funniest deliberate line in the game is from the 'Find source of Freaks' weapons' mission:

There was also a Family thug saying to a victim something like, "You wrote a check and now your face is going to pay!"
Oh yes, NPC talk is great.
Longbow Nullifier: "This is new base is great. It's impregnable, even to villains like..."

Second funniest thing was not a single instance but a whole mission.
Redside. I'm on a low level SS/Invulnerable Brute.
I go in the mission ... and there's no one there.
I walk through the entire mission without encountering a single baddie. Get to the hostage who's cowering from ... nothing.
I click on him and he follows me out.
No ambush. Nothing.
Leave the mission without encountering a single enemy.
It's like they knew I was coming and decided to skip the beating for once! :D

I shall never forget it.
We were in the last room, full of DE Crystals. One player on Kyria Shirako (Fire/Shield Scrapper) and one on Xarthax the Destroyer (Electric/Fire Scrapper) forged ahead of the group. In a hilarious display of true scrapper power... Shield Charge + Lightning Rod into masses of DE. They would *shatter* hordes of them! I was laughing so hard as they cleared the room I couldn't move my character to help mop up. Little itty bitty pieces of DE exploding out and raining down.
Dammit. I want my City back. :'(
8 year vet. On November 29--the day before the end--I got turned around tried to enter the Tram through the exit...again! I couldn't stop laughing. Gah!!! :o

The other one isn't a TF; it's just one particular mission where the mission holder automatically gets a Kronos Titan ambush wherever they are when the mission is exited, so you can tailor where the Kronos spawns by having the mission holder move to where you want the ambush to occur before the mission completes, then you just have someone in the mission exit and *BAM*. I did something like that once, where I did the pre-ambush mission solo, invited a friend to team, then passed them the star so they could fill out the team (this was pre-league) before I exited, so we could all get the badge.

I would periodically get bored with seeing three Paladins down in the hollow behind the building where the KR mayhem/safeguard bank was, and learned how to aggro one at a time with a Blaster and drag them up to the drones at the tunnel to Galaxy City without getting killed in the process so that the Paladin spawn event could reset.
During the last month, in a couple of the Lambda runs I was with, the big GM robot that's supposed to be on guard duty inside the facility wasn't at his post. Both times, we found him in the little break room. ??? With his back to the door, no less! The slacker.

Virtue Magi master badge run. Ara has us all on Ventrillo (or skype or whatever, I forget). People are planning how to get the badges and go over strategy. The whole "At 40% health, do this. At 20%, pop lore pets, don't kill lights, yadda yadda" schtick...
That's when I pipe in with "Ok, you guys sound like the dudes from the Leeroy Jenkins video..."
And thus, many lols were had!

My personal favourite funny moment was playing my Inv/SS Tank, Ms. Ultra. Understandably, she was a feminist. Exchange goes like this:
Guy on team (trolling IC): "If you're Ms. Ultra, what's your husband?"

I think the mission devolved for a minute for everyone to stop laughing. It was one of my favourite exchanges in all of CoH and it was just a random guy who fed me a line that I could knock out of the park. 8)

When body sliders first came out, I saw a short, fat (well, fat by CoH standards) old lady in nothing but a half-open bathrobe. And just as I was drinking in that shriveling sight-- SPLORT! Out come the Spines! Yeeesh!
One of my favorite tricks was to use Lightning Storm on the groins of various statues to turn them into 1970s porn stars!

Just after Freedom launched, with the remake of Atlas Park, I was bouncing around checking the place out and saw four Hellions walking single file down the street. Now I'm not a religious Beatles fan, but I do know what one of the most famous album covers in history looks like. So I jumped over and took a screenshot, thinking what the heck, might be good for a laugh. Then I completely forgot about it until a few weeks later when I was looking through the folder and saw this:

Aside from the obvious, he's what was actually going on there. That's Nemesis, in the middle of the cutscene at the end of Dark Watcher's arc in the Rikti War Zone. Now you may notice, he's not where he's supposed to be. Normally, he spawns in the center of the entrance and faces directly toward the portal. However, on this specific occasion we had two traps corruptors on the team and they decided they'd set a half a million tripmines right on the spot Nemesis spawns before we went and beat up the Rikti. So the instant he spawned, he ate a faceful of explosion for about half his health and got tossed aside before the cutscene even started. The game literally sat there for a minute before playing the cutscene, like the server itself was going 'Holy shit!' and trying to work out what to do.
Now that's a Nemesis PLOTZ! (Ba DUM tish!) :D

If you just wanna buy your way to victory, or pay to be rich, just set up a private server or buy a "tricked out" account or something.
There on your own server you can be a god, for FREE.
Of course, such a setup requires *actual effort*, which is something people who use RMT sites don't have.
Mind you I'm not condoning private servers, just stating my opinion.

well a level 12 guy walks RIGHT up to it and says.. " oh look a Werewolf "..
i kid you not, the Warwolf back slaps him across the street. and the guy crashed right into the side of a building.. dead of course..
I burst out laughing and my wife was like...

One Council mission on my 50 in Dark Astoria, I exited and as I'd run it before I knew there would be an ambush, so I stood there and waited... and waited... I heard a machine gun, but did not see any damage, so I waited. After 10 minutes, I looked around, trying to find the machine gun sound....
There was a level 1 Council standing there unloading his clip into me.
I wound up writing up an entire story on the guy. The worst recruit ever, who the Council bosses decided on getting rid of him by sending him into battle, solo, against my character.

Heh! Reminds me of that familiar sight in CoX: Your team has just steamrolled a whole mob, but one minion hoofed it some distance away early-on. He then runs back after you've wiped out all his buddies, and starts firing on the team as if he's suddenly contracted a serious case of Rambo-itis, or perhaps realized that if he didn't make some token effort he'd end up wearing concrete galoshes when his boss found out :D

I remember that bug, council ambushes would spawn but at the zone's minimal level. I remember standing around with my level 30 something in Talos and have a level 10 council run up and try to attack me. It was like kids attacking you with wrapping paper tubes, cute but annoying after awhile.
I mads a characterVillianside called Dead Sidekick - he had two different costumes sorta Bucky like and sorta Robin like. Bacak when you had to have hover before fly and had to be lvl 14 I was outside of the Atlas entrance to the Hollows waiting on teamates . A lvl 2 character ran up to me and just stood there. Whoever made him had him looking naked and had that big goofy grin face on him. When I moved I noticed he was following . I had tried sending a tell no response. So after a while of him auto following me I turned on hover and flew over a group of 6 th lvl Hellions. He want a way , I went back to waiting. He returned from thje Hospital - rinse lather repeat . This went on for 20 minutes before I finally zoned to the Hollows.

On Freedom there was a toon named Captain Copyright. He had all of his slots unlocked but the two characters I remember were Captain America and Mario. His line for the Mario costume was "Its a me, Ma...Captain Copyright." He was a blast to play with

Somebody did an AE farm where all the characters were Britney Spears stage personas. The funniest thing that ever happened to me on that was that they were all bosses, and I invited a friend on to see it because it was actually a fun challenge. He didn't spot they were all bosses, herded them on his tank and faceplanted almost immediately and to him extremely unexpectedly.

I hardly ever teamed up myself. I loved it, but RL kept me AFK too much. And even I ran into more than a few players like that... crazy and awesome and just plain fun to be around :D

That's not what happened this time at all. They just started gathering and running around, first on the steps in front of Ms. Lib, then around the courtyard area. Then they all started running off down the street. A bunch of us were so surprised we followed, wondering what they would do next. They would do such things occasionally, such as when they did the crowd swarm over the door next to the monorail station in KR that led the devs to put a plaque there ingame about the incident, I belive explaining it as mind control or some such.
I had a few of Darkwing Duck's signature lines ("I am the terror that flaps in the night!" "I am the raspberry seed you can't floss out!") key bound on Darkwing Turducken. Usually got a few LOL tells.
The funniest thing that I remember in a mission was in my first Cavern of Transcendence trial. You know, you had to have eight people to hit all eight glowies at once? The team leader had Invisibility and some form of Recall Friend, so he ran to each glowy and teleported one of us to it in turn. Before he did it, he gave a little team lecture on what was about to happen, stressing not to touch the glowy until he said so.
(I'm sure you can see where this is going...)
Three of us were me and two of the guys from my Friday night group, all three on Skype, so, once it started, we were obviously egging each other on via Skype, but the rest of the team were doing it by the end.
When the first of us, Chuck, got to his glowy, he asked, "Why can't we touch it again?"
"We all have to touch them at the same time. Let me get everyone in place, first."
When the next of us got there, he asked, "Can I touch it now?"
"No. Let me get everyone to theirs, then we'll do it."
Bear in mind, the team leader is not on Skype, so he has to stop what he's doing to reply in the chat window, while the rest of us are just sitting around waiting. By this time, one of the other people has caught on.
"Can I touch it, yet?"
"No! Stop it! I'm going as fast as I can!"
It rapidly deteriorate from there, until it was like some kind of skit, or something. The more we whined like kids on a road trip, the worse the team leader's typing got, too. We finished the trial, but the team leader threatened to put us all on Ignore when we were done.

I remember that bug, council ambushes would spawn but at the zone's minimal level. I remember standing around with my level 30 something in Talos and have a level 10 council run up and try to attack me. It was like kids attacking you with wrapping paper tubes, cute but annoying after awhile.
There was also the other bug where the ambush on a TF would spawn at the real level of the player, even if they were exemplared. Of course, usually it's the person who's leveling up and can't see that they were being 2 shotted.

We're releasing on time.
Cavern of Transcendence Trial, and we all faceplant together. The rezzer is in the rear. There ensued a hilarious passing of the single rez pill we had from one dead body to the next to get all the way back. "Do you have it?" "I gave it to YOU!" "Well I don't have it!" yada. I was the rezzer and almost couldn't eat the pill when it finally got to me, I was laughing so hard.

That's Moonsun in black & white on the left and Dynamo Jr. in blue & red on the right (Xieveral is centered). What's so funny, you ask? They are both ME! Moonsun was mapserved so I decided to alt out to Dynamo on the way back in. When I got back to AP, there he was. I stood there looking at myself in shock and saying something like "Well. I just broke the game." He just stood there cycling through stand poses like nothing was weird at all...

Funniest thing i saw was a toon in outbreak tutorial guy looked like the good humor man except he had black and white cow spots all over him! His name was "The Milkman" and he would put his hands on his hips and say "Behold the power of cheese!" lmao!
