He knows VB.NET, not C#
Well... in my opinion C# is easier than VB.NET, references are stored right in the DLL the build creates. Plus C# is great with DDE and talking to other apps all-together, even ones not included on the DDE "Server".
The code is syntax is WAY different... and is only really con is that it is stand-alone intensive.
Perl and Ruby (eRuby) are forms of C# and C++, both are supported on most FreeBSD and Desbein Linux hosting servers. Both server-side scripts share the a lot of the same libraries.
Anyways, I was just regarding his Volt's comment about how needs to learn PHP. Kind of made me chuckle because the syntax of PHP is a lot like VB.NET.
Variables are simply changed from
Dim t_Variable as New Control = VB.NET.Control{blah}.suffix
to
$t_Variable = "Whatever You Want";
Depending on the libraries (and some you can even download and install in your servers cgi-bin and just link it in the modules section of the php.ini) you can even use ASP tags (<% %>) just in case that's what you're used to
lol!
Classes work relatively the same, and AJAX and other Active X components can be used, with the help of java-php & ajax.
Functions are close to the same setup of JavaScript. Which any webmaster should know well enough.
PHP is like the mooch of the script world. It takes allot of the same syntax that makes all other good scripts function.
