I don't have damage floaters on for other people and I haven't parsed but it feels like my dps is still really low. I'm Tactical, in an advanced Escort, running MK XII and Very Rare in about every equipment slot so I was hoping maybe my next ship would be the game changer.
It's really a shame that CO doesn't have even half the tradeskill system that STO has. I went to play some CO today for the first time since my first break from it. It's like, I'm good at CO and I LUV CO (felt good to be home), but, there's nothing to do there but get nerfed and retcon (the toon I logged in on after well over a month of absence had a Mandatory retcon waiting for him to pour a lil salt in the wound...) and when I get done with that I play at least 90% of the same content I have played since leveling my first 40 and it is just as hard/easy, so, the nerfs don't even have a point - they are just frustrating and take away from play time whenever they hit one of the builds I want to play.
I suck at STO but yet there's still tons to do and that's why I'm gonna go back and play it after finishing this.
I could tradeskill my brains out in CO. Just let the components drop in places where you want people to be - like Alurts, and mishes and why not let them drop in outdoor zones too. Tradeskilling involves playing the market and fighting mobs. Done well, like in STO, It gives an ongoing, compelling, reason to do so. Fighting mobs and playing the market involves being involved with other players, too - even for solo artists. It's a good thing.
I know everyone who plays long enough has their own opinion on what would help CO and there is one of mine. Two of my most used buttons, the 'jump' (for barrel rolls) and 'block' (for terminating attack macros errrr and...oh yeah, blocking) mouse buttons that I have used since I started playing CO after CoH went away, fell off, today, too, so, that kinda killed it for me too.. lol
