Does anyone have the original CoH Forums archived?

I was considering at the very least it used to show on your Avatar the date you signed onto the Forums. This would at least be good for Veteran rewards! A data base could be made that could list all the active board dates at the very least.

But.... I played from the first week until the last day and I never signed up with the "official forums". That would leave me at the bottom of the list.

I posted a few times, but under a different name

started to call myself Angel when I started to play Champions (I do they could do a search of my real name.) I would post a few times in the scrapper forum on the old website.

Yeah, I'm not sure how helpful it would be either, since not everyone used the old forums, and certainly not everyone signed up for them right after they started playing. I'm sure there were quite a lot of folks who only EVER used them when they had some kind of question or problem they wanted help with.

I know I registered May 11th 2004 but had played since the first day.

I was just trying to brainstorm ways to prove your time in game. Who knows maybe they would have a starter pack? Maybe $25 and you get all the goodies?

Me too! It's kinda weird to think I've been "Online" there this whole time, considering I couldn't stay logged in for ten straight minutes back when they were still active.

And yeah, I would totally go in for some kind of "early adopter" pack, where you pay a lump sum up front to get a big, juicy goodie pack. One for all the power sets, one for all the costume pieces, one for all the vet rewards, so on. It'd be a good way for the new team to get a big chunk of cash early on, while the more eager players get back to a status they're more familiar with.

Unfortunately I don't think I signed up for the official forums even though I have been reading it alot when the game was available.

But I have been playing since beta rolled around that's probably not good enough unfortunately I actually don't have alot saved at all to show that.

And if there is a goodie pack to purchase that they might make I'm more then willing to put my money on that

I you do not see yourself in the capture of the archive then change the date in the string to a date when you think you might have posted

Then just adjust the pointer a capture at a time till you find it

Why not use Sentinel? Your oldest toon might have all your vet badges on it, right? Since the month does not realky matter so much. But the year is what counts.

I lost my Sentinel files when my computer crashed...(and a friend's too)

However, as an email hoarder, I DO have my original email telling me my account was activated and giving me my unique id, so I think I'm set...if it comes to that. And I should be on the archives somewhere trying to figure out how to rebuild my beloved (puny) Risha, a mind/emp troller, but that was late in the game.

Nothing in the wiki timeline or wiki news to note that day as anything special. A couple days after Halloween ended and a full month before Titan Weapons.

That's ringing a bell actually... I can vaguely remember them reconfiguring the forums for some reason - it might have been when they were color coding the names to show premium vs VIP players, or when they were switching up the forum categories, I forget now. Either way , they ran into some kind of glitch that falsely inflated the number of active forum users.

No wait... I think Zwill was testing the forums' options to see if he could create a lower level of forum account, so that Free-To-Players could at least access sections like Player Questions and Technical Help. I think there was mention that he needed to create a bunch of fake accounts to test it out with, or something like that. Not positive on that though.

I was checking that out and I hate to say this....but the way its archived its incomplete....I tried to get to my own user name...and the links would not go to the correct places and would error out. My Forum Name was as here Psychic Kitty....its not only not listed at the bottom of the display...which is showing only the active users logged in when that copy was made....but also there is no way to do a search for users very easily.

In addition at that time....they had issues with their veteran status and some people where listed as having played a long time...like even before the game existed...ie a bunch of people hacked the system....so I don't know if I would consider that reliable information for user data.

I mean just do the show users thing....notice how there is a bunch of the same name just slightly different....those where people exploiting the system to have ten trillion accounts.

What's archived is the content of the board itself. It's a snap shot of the board. The reason you can't search is because there's no underlying forum software there, no database to connect to. It's just the output of the pages.

I know I'd register, forget, register again, but probably didn't post much until I really wanted to respec my mind/emp toon Risha. And the very first character I made in 2006, before I knew anything, was called Stormgard (I think), but I used my 1 name switch to Risha later.

If you can give me an idea how to search, I can do it.

Take the original link

Then in the link change the date to a date close to when you think you would have been active
the year and the month are the first six number 20120904100456

Change to suit then look at the top

now you have an aero to move forward or backward one capture at a time

do this until you find your forum name at the bottom

then select it

Not to mention somebody who logged in early on and made a forum account, but then canceled after a few months would look far more "vet" then they should.
