https://web.archive.org/web/20120904100448/http://boards.cityofheroes.com/There was something about this archive process that occasionally drops weird strings in the middle of everything, but it's all still quite readable. Of course external links might no longer exist. Some internal links (from one forum topic to another) are good ("relative") links, and you can just click on them. but MOST are not (they're "absolute" links beginning with "
http://boards.cityofheroes.com"). You can tell by hovering your mouse over the link, and the related URL should show up as a pop-up hint at the bottom of your browser window. If it begins with "
http://web.archive.org" then you can just click it. If it begins with "
http://boards.cityofheroes.com" then do this instead:
Right-click on the link, and choose "copy link location" or whatever wording your browser has there. Now go up to the address bar of the browser (where the current URL is showing), and highlight the entire right part of the URL beginning with "
http://boards.cityofheroes.com", as shown in red here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20120904100448/http://boards.cityofheroes.com/then hit "paste" (usually ctrl-V), then enter. The new page should appear.
