Where ever you go, there you are.

Imagine that?

No, it's not imagination. It's true. It's even been unscientifically proven.

Friends finally got me to try WoW.  Spent Friday night playing their Halloween event.  Nobody has events like CoH, and playing dull/lame events just makes me miss the door-knocking and the present gathering and the challenge of keeping "creepy baby aggro" on the Snaptooth mission in an achy kind of way.

Was bad enough that it got me to come back and post in this thread again.

Speaking of cheating, what about the streak breaker?  I forget if that was a player induced hallucination, or if there really was such a thing, but basically the idea was, it prevented you from continually missing.  At some point, it would force a hit.  Wouldn't that be considered cheating FOR the player?

It has been so long, I honestly don't remember if that was one of those things that players insisted was true, when it was really just anecdotal evidence at best.

Vee

It was real, but wouldn't really be considered cheating for the player since it worked against the player just as much as for them.

It did exist, it did break streaks of misses, but technically speaking it wasn't cheating for the player because it was built into the tohit system itself.  Meaning, it affected all attackers whether they were players or not.  In effect, the streakbreaker rewrote the rules of the in-game universe, it did not explicitly favor the players against the computer (in practice, the benefit was more likely to benefit players because of the specific situations players and NPCs were in, but that was mostly coincidental).

I wouldn't call the streak breaker a cheat due to it being used also for misses. I remember that I had a miss streak of 9 times in a row, on a yellow -con lt, then I was able to hit once, then back to missing. However, later in levels such as l35 and above I never noticed when I missed or if I ever did.
However, I wouldn't call it a cheat for the player. More like trying to keep combat normalized.
