Judging by the look, the first screenshot is before any of the (three?) graphics tweaks, thus issue 5 at the latest (Issue 6/Villains brought the first graphics tweaks). Based on all the limbs I see, it looks like the critters are stacking, so that's super early in the game. I can't remember when enemy collision was updated/implemented. That screenshot is quite possibly an entire map of critters, way more than your paltry 4-5 groups.

Issue 2 if I recall correctly.  One of my SG mates, running a Dark/Invuln scrapper, herding the entire high side of Crey's Folly.  About 120 freaks, plus or minus a couple.  Shadow Maul without target caps: one of the less well-known secrets of the early herding days.  I recall he was still tele-tanking, so pretty sure its I2.

That was a zone exploration badge, and unlike Unabashed in RWZ you could get it without triggering a raid.

It was technically possible, but not easy for most players to get outside of the aftermath of a raid.

HA

Tell that to my Nrg/Nrg Blaster that uses those worthless Centrioles to Outdistance everything in the game except for Nemesis Bosses and Rikti Drones.

or my Rad Blasters and Defenders that use them to extend the range of Cosmic Burst

or my AR/Nrg that uses them to extend the range and increase the cone of Buckshot and Flamethrower.

or my Elec/Elec who uses it in Static Discharge..

or my Crab Spider because it works WONDERS in Heavy Burst and Surpressive Fire...

so not worthless to everyone....

Back when people were literally throwing Centrioles away I made a stacked Centriole build for my En/En and with boost range I ended up with so much range that I could literally hit targets from beyond my ability to see them.  I could assist through a spotter and hit targets that couldn't aggro me and would run around in circles confused about where the shots were coming from.  My biggest problem with the build was that when I was solo and shooting from my maximum perception range the enemies would often run away and promptly despawn.

I managed to get it once with my Illusion Controller. was flying at the ceiling of the zone, just looking around (while Superior Invisibled), and was one shot sniped by a jelly bean and fell on the badge...right in the middle of a ginormous mound of Jello.

I went to get a snack after that, since I suddenly had a craving for the munchies for some odd reason.  ???

My elec/nrg tried this. I turned my graphics to max to see as much as I could but anything past about 250 feet would vanish.
And then... the Malta ambush laughed at that range.

But yeah I used to snipe Mitos from the safe rock after a yellow dawn. Good times.

So, I know this is a super random question, but did anyone here know a Energy Energy Blaster by the name of Epiyon on the Infinity Server? (He was also Jekada, a Rad Rad Defender, & Raynos a Ice Ice Blaster)

I lived on Infinity but that doesn't ring a bell. That's not to say your friend isn't known. MMOs can herd players into cliques without even trying.

Well... my dad played when CoH/CoV first came out and continued to play for a couple of years before stopping (from 2004, when it came out, to 2007ish and on and off from then), so I wouldn't be surprised if no one remembers his blaster, besides, he didn't exactly group with people alot... I mean, he did group with people but he went solo more often than not.

My dad is the main reason I even got into CoH/CoV... Gotta love family :)

Not sure what you guys are talking about, I meant grabbing the badge before Hami even spawns.  Fly to the center of the zone, drop into the center where the badge is, and you have it.  There's nothing particularly dangerous there.  I think I even got the badge a while before I did my first Hami raid.

You can't do the badge before he spawns, if no one is doing Hami raids.  You don't have to actually raid Hamidon to get the badge, but the badge is a lot easier to get if raids are happening, because as I said, its easiest to get in the aftermath of a raid.  I.e. when Hamidon is dead and before the encounter resets.

In the old days you could also get it while phase shifted, but the discussion was about latter-game raid frequency.

I would on a many of my blueside 50s just go to the hive whenever I was badge hunting, pop into the center of the bowl with no Hami spawned, get the badge and go about getting the rest in that zone(which are a little more difficult to get without SS or some form of stealth  :-\)
