I've believed for some time now that the deal is done and the powers that be are making sure that everything will run, without a hitch, before they let us know. Who could blame them for keeping it quiet? When it comes to this amazing game, we are a pretty ruthless group (and I mean that in a very, very good way).

I've been thinking to myself their going to make an announcement on April fools. No one will believe them and we'll go even longer CoH less until we see gameplay video. LOL

Codewalker, I'm stealing that pic for my archives. Thanks for posting it. LOL

I have no doubts about the ongoing situation between NCSoft and the buyers. Contact took time, negotiations take time, hammering out the details will take yet more time. Not being privy to the details can be frustrating but as a person who realistically can add nothing to the process, I figure the best thing that I can do is to keep calm and provide tacit support by not adding any more stress to this situation.

I trust those involved to tell us all if the effort fails. They have said nothing to this effect so the process is continuing.

This is how I feel as well. I'm not putting forth any of my own personal time or energy into this. So the least I can do is sit back, be patient and trust that the people involved. Will tell us WHAT they can WHEN they can.

Believe me, I'm sure Nate and crew would love to be on these forums gushing about all the details if they could.

Feel free. I remember seeing it on the forums but didn't save it at the time. Then when I went to look for it a couple months ago, I couldn't find it anywhere. I thought it was lost to the mists of the Internet when I happened to hit a lucky search term on archive.org and snagged a copy.

Oh, I instantly saved a copy of it as well.

Having Nate's hand forced wasn't as big a problem after the fact - during that time we were in an absolute panic that NCSoft would get up and walk away and the game would be gone forever.

Since the deal had not really started other than NCSoft saying - yes we will talk to you and this is the price. I cannot stress too much what an NDA is:

Non-Disclosure Agreement. You cannot talk about it - you most times may not even say you are under the NDA. This is a sample of what you could expect to see:

https://www.mycapital.com/companies/non-disclosure-agreement.php

So if they violate the agreement they likely would kill the deal and have to pay damages - so you may have to buy the game and not own it. No, for right now we wait.

Oh, so now I know what the NDA stands for. I was wondering what does it mean. Thanks Ironwolf.

It only just now occurred to me that when we say "there's an NDA, that means they can't talk about it" there exist people for whom that's actually a non-sequitor.  I often assume "there's an NDA" is about as familiar as "you're not even close: pop a yellow."

I remember having to sign my first NDA....for the CoH beta ;)

Oh Yeah. Gawd I miss the actual MMs of CoX. So much fun to have minions do what I COMMAND OF THEM. MUA AHAHAHAHA!!

There was a fast pace with commanding henchmen that I think made masterminds so unique, cycling through enemies while launching attack | defense macros.  Even more-so if your an incarnate and get your interface slot fully upgraded, then it was instant five-stacking, and a huge jump in firepower.

A thing I won't miss going to paragon city, the price hikes in CO, including the lockboxes and the huge cost alongside the price hike for existing sets.  And the rage following all the bad decisions and divided community.  Won't miss either of those.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

Already tried it, and was disgusted to see that a lot of the stuff the CoT folks showed us at Christmas, was built in stuff...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the...similarities.  To be honest there's a lot of talk about CoT but not much else, especially after this most recent revelation

Ironwolf

I will stress again - they can't talk about it.

I know that is a pain in the butt. The deal continues, if it fails for some reason - I am certain we will know in very short order.

They can talk about CoT because that is their game not NCSoft's.

Ironwolf sorry if your post here was directed towards mine. I was just talking about the eye opening that has been done regarding the CoT project after the unreal 4 engine went free and people were able to take a proper look at it. Most of the things that the CoT team had been showing us as work being done was, in fact, ready made already lol

"The NDA means they can't talk about it." - paraphrased, but essentially the idea.

Hm.  Fascinating.

They could talk about it in September and before.  How else does this post get started and keep getting more info and updates back in March and on?  Understanding, of course, that Ironwolf did indeed have what looks to be a 'starting of the process' foot in the door, but after that... he shoud not have known/posted anything, if an NDA was up.

But now the doors are shut?  Um... ok.  Weird, but ok.

This is actually the disingenous part I was railing about earlier, btw.  We could get info, mystical-ish as it was, before Sep 1, but now the doors are sealed...   I mean, there's not a whole lot that hasn't been posted about what's supposedly goin' on that would really matter.  Do we really care about pricing or such?  I don't.  Dunno about you guys.  Just want it to be a thing again.

But ok, whatever, if that's the deal and we all just have to assume that things are still going on...  I'll shut up now, and I won't be back in the thread posting until it's done.

I have faith.  I do.  Honest.

Go team!

Different NDAs can be added as things go along.  At first it took them months just to get to the right person they needed to talk to.  Now that the nitty gritty details about who's going to lease the IP and which group is going to financially back the project are getting hammered out (and the CoX zombie server snapshot is getting added to the deal), new NDAs would of course be required.  There are usually a pile of them going in a typical business deal as things move along, not one.

I find it's easier to dabble in this game or that to take my mind off things (so many MMOs are F2P nowadays) than get too flustered thinking about CoX all the time.  I love it as much as anyone, but next thing you know, too much huffing and puffing and we're going to have the next "Facebook Blabbermouth Bully" on our hands.  And nobody but nobody wants to be that guy lol.

Elder Scrolls Online goes B2P March 17th.  Just a heads up.

Kind of funny now they found new way to sell "Horse Armor" (quite literally in this case) in another Elder Scroll game xD

Hmm... speaking of beta, I wonder how many people remember killing time while waiting for their pre-order beta invite by playing this? http://www.methodshop.com/games/play/yeti/yeti1-blood.shtml
