I honestly have not done much studying into this particular topic, but from the first paragraph stating the universe is flat I can assume there might be a miscalculation in their theories again attributed to my rule of faulty math that still computes, they are obviously missing something and therefore haven't added it into the calculations and are getting the wrong output.

No.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shape_of_the_universe

QuoteDark matter and the red spectrum, these theories are used to explain why we can't see light from objects at a certain distance away or record their energies.

No.  Dark matter has nothing to do with seeing light from far away: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_matter

No.  "Red spectrum", if it refers to red shift, refers to trivially demonstrable doppler shifts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redshift

QuoteWell, I'll have to slightly disagree with both, there isn't some magic invisible matter that makes up a huge portion of the universe that; and wait for it: in our history of monitoring space we just happen to have never encountered it or it's effects directly.

No.  The Dark matter theory comes from direct observations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vera_Rubin

QuoteI'm sorry that violates several real theories of probability.

No.  Just no.

Quotephotons are tiny fragments of electrons, protons and nuetrons created either by a peak in energy inside an electron proton ETC. or when too much energy is forced into one atom's field (radioactivity)

No.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boson, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermion

QuoteSolar panels are plates of silicon which naturally contains lots of electrons, when light hits it the fields of these electrons are more than likely to colide with the photons causing the electrons to be bounced out of the material (and collected by a conductor), This 'squishy/sloppy' impact absorbs quite a lot of the photon's speed causing it to slow down and hopefully become an electron to take the former's place, thus recharging the panel. however sometimes a proton or nuetron is formed and eventually the solar panel will be mostly populated with these making energy flow less or null.

I loves me some Fig Newtons but, alas, Fig Newtons do not love me... Everything out, one exit.  I guess a good Spring cleaning every once in awhile won't hurt you.  Sort of like those Pringles made with Olestra.  At least I found another use for the Pringles' can.

I guess you've never had a regular fig. :p

Ironwolf

Joshex, were you once known as Unique Dragon?

Space is not empty of matter in fact it has a LOT of hydrogen atoms and this is why many of the long distance craft are discussed as using a type of "sail" that collects this hydrogen and powers the craft.

I have been studying astronomy for over 40 years and your post made my head hurt. I was unable to find a single thing you posted that was correct. I will not leave you in the dark:

How solar panels work: http://www.livescience.com/41995-how-do-solar-panels-work.html

How space is filled:http://www.brighthub.com/science/space/articles/27257.aspx

Doppler shift is simple light is made of different wave lengths - as light travels towards you it shortens in length and shows a blueshift. If an object is moving away the light is longer as it moves causing a redshift.

Here is the hard math: http://www.astro.ucla.edu/~wright/doppler.htm

I agree with Joshex.

...I think.

Arcana,

I give you incredible props for going through all that fail and sourcing responses to every one of Joushex's points that will be totally ignore d by him. You are much better person than I.

I once thought about giving someone a mystical levitating fig.  But in the end, I decided I wasn't going to give a flying fig....

There are not many times where that video has been more appropriate.  There should just be an autoresponse to embed that video in every one of Joshex's posts.

I truly believe the cure for bad science and pseudo-science is good science.

I also believe the cure for crazy is more focused crazy, so I do tend to flip between the two.
