Eh, a lot of these things don't need their own archetype, just some creativity with character descriptions and powerset combos.

I suppose you could, but they still wouldn't have that uniqueness, that special ability or power that is only available in an EAT. I do feel that the new EATs should be unlocked (or purchased if used as a cash making option for the game) and not just automatic gimmes.

Maybe something akin to the Armor types of the Carnival of Light/War/Vengeance from Praetoria?

As for the Rikti and suitability, don't forget that the Lost are a sort of hybrid version of them, which lends even more possibilities for progression of a Rikti archetype and incorporation into Lore- they need not all be the more alien-looking "full" Rikti, for instance, and perhaps Lost could be the early incarnation of the EAT?

I would have loved to see the game history from the Rikti Earth PoV. While we know the facts of most stuff, it would have been awesome to see it from the other side.

Speaking of open Rikti questions, was it ever explained how the Rikti Priests came in to being, and who they worship?

I thought they worshipped the True Rikti? The beings who invaded their world and had such a profound effect on their society that it caused them to change themselves in emulation of them?

The Lost have an excellent story anchor for becoming an EAT.  The problem as I see it is that the Lost were boring from a combat perspective.  They were really hellions with Rikti weapons until you got to the bosses which were all basically mind/psi wielders.

The Rikti proper have more promise (and I know there are ways to glue the Lost and the Rikti together into a single EAT structure) in that they had Soldiers and Mesmers, and also exceptionals like the Magi and the Assault suits.  I could envision a four way branching Rikti EAT that started with the soldiers and the mesmers, and then downstream a sort of "techno" and "developmental" secondary branching.  The developmental soldiers become sort of advanced Chief Soldiers with armor and advanced weapons, the techno soldiers become the powered armor assault suit-like (in ability if not appearance) guys, the  developmental mesmers evolve towards mesmer/magi hybrid abilities and the techno mesmers end up becoming like Rikti Priests with enhanced mental abilities and advanced rikti weaponry.  Something like that.  It would take a lot of work to fill out, but I think that line of thought has potential.

BadWolf

My dream EAT was going to be a Guardian--an archetype whose primary and secondary were both Defender primaries. Sucky for soloing, great for teaming. :)

Ok, let me try it this way. Irish_Girl, if APV is expected very roughly to arrive early fall of 2015, do you have any feel for  when CoH I23 aka Legacy could arrived - based on a favorable outcome of the negotiations?

I have to confess 9/15 is when I thought  Legacy would arrive.

I thought the Rikti priests were the thought police of the Rikti homeworld.

IG has nothing at all to do with the negotiations, so why would she have any more of an idea as to when Legacy might arrive than anyone else?

If the deal is signed as early as Monday morning, you will NOT be playing again before the new year, not a chance.

If the server code is provided in a well organized fashion and with reasonable instructions on how to set up a server instance, I would guestimate about 30 days from when someone hands someone else a disk with all the software to when someone outside the setup team could log into it and play the game, at a reasonable minimum.  It could happen faster, it could take a lot longer, but that would be a reasonable guess for the first-light pool.

Ectomy

Have we any new news. I have been dreaming of this for so long. Now I can't sleep I keep looking through pages and web sites for information but finding nothing new, not the words I long to see. I know they said in the original post its not a sure thing but looks good. Well after a couple weeks hows it look now ???

Power Gamer

It may be some time before we hear anything.

Just sit tight and relax. At this point, no news is good news until it's not.  :P
It takes a village to raise a child. And it takes a villain to explain the value of lunch money.

-Random CoHer: "Why does the sky turn green during Rikti invasions?"
-Me:"Rikti Monkey farts"
-Random CoHer: "I'm going to you for all my questions from now on!"

Ectomy

I know not hearing is better then hearing sorry guys we tried. I just read these post and know how we all feel. I spent so many nights playing vs sleeping and well now its wishing I was playing vs sleeping. If I knew for sure either way well you know. But calm down hang in there great advice. maybe tonight I'll try counting 50s instead of wishing I could play them, see if that doesn't help.

No news is good news. Silence for us means they're talking to each other.

I agree to this: I wish I didn't know about the effort before they were done with the deal.

Now it's all forum chat, sleepless nights and pints of ice cream in front of your widescreen with Dc animated and marvel live-action flicks.

Rejolt Industries LLC is now a thing. Woo!

You can always watch the new cap flick. It was quite good. watched it last night.

I so didn't mean bad! Stupid ios autocorrect.

My first sg may be Paragon Autocorrect. I'll only talk in typos and bizarre speech patterns like a Rikti after 3 kegs of beer at a Brawler house party.

I know this is blue sky projecting at this point not knowing when or IF the deal is done. The legacy team needs to get the code, assess the code, put it on servers, attach some kind of Legacy store so Legacy can take my money, arrange the access to the game (hardware/interwebs). 30 days seems really optimistic. How long does it take to train and implement a team for the game's customer service for any tickets turned in?

The estimate I put together is about 2-3 months. You've gotta get the paragon store working again, teach the GM team how to support the game... etc...

But I highly doubt if the deal went through today that it would be over a YEAR before launch.
