Maybe Im being biased because it was my frist MMO, but this person here speaks the truth.

Well I am a well season experienced MMO player. I go back a long ways the first mainstream MMO that started everything was UO and I played it; I skipped ever crack and went to DAOC and played several others a long the ways. Most the people I played DAOC left for WOW I went to Horizons lots of potential but in the end a big cluster ended up in COH during the mid point of I2 been my main with a few side trips here and there but nothing plays like COH and nothing I tried since COH is even close.

They are well bland and boring  compared tot he fast pace nature of coh solo, teamed what ever so many ways to  play and enjoy the game.

The beauty of COH it can be as complicated or simple as you want and you can still do cool things or have fun

Something clicked in my mind (probably snapped off, actually) while reading a recent message where someone mentioned Breakfrees.  I'm sure the mixed drink crowd can come up with some inspired conoctions, but since the hardest thing I normally touch is soda, here are my choices for:

Inspirations As Drinks (Soda Category):

Accuracy - Mellow Yellow
Damage - Code Red
Defense - Grape
Endurance - Mt Dew Voltage
Healing - Mt Dew (Original)
Resist Damage - Orange Creme
Resist Effects - Dr Pepper (my favorite!)
Resurrection - Mt Dew Live Wire

This made me think of my inspiration bind I had on every toon

F1 "$$inspexec_name Respite$$inspexec_name Dramatic Improvement$$inspexec_name Resurgence"
F2 "$$inspexec_name Catch a Breath$$inspexec_name Take a Breather$$inspexec_name Second Wind"
F3 "$$inspexec_name Luck$$inspexec_name Good Luck$$inspexec_name Phenomenal Luck"
F4 "$$inspexec_name Sturdy$$inspexec_name Rugged$$inspexec_name Robust"
F5 "$$inspexec_name Enrage$$inspexec_name Focused Rage$$inspexec_name Righteous Rage"
F6 "$$inspexec_name Insight$$inspexec_name Keen inSight$$inspexec_name Uncanny Insight"

I was one of those tanks. I still miss those days. Made some of my best blaster friends on Dreck farms.

If I remember correctly it was more often than not with a Fire/Ice tank.

I much preferred the Warwolf mission with the little trail through the forest that all the lowbies would climb into. For those who didn't know, that mish was the single reason that warwolves got Hurl Bolder.

I remember coming out of the Atlas gate into Perez Park and seeing all the mobs on the map coming at me- it was interesting.

LOL I remember having a very similar experience a long time ago. Good memories.

That was I1 correct I miss that everyone called it city of blasters because blaster would get fly/hover and sit there and mow them down with no chance of dying for easy xp.

The no aoe limit and the freakshow farming is why the drek mission was later set to a timer because people would save that one and farm it to no end dumpster diving I was part of a team the tank would pull a 100 into the dumpster easy. The brokenness of early coh

Then the portal farming abuse was why they changed it to no xp from killing monsters coming  from portals to only xp for destroying the portals (There where two farming techniques used)

I got to CoH just in time to hear all the /Devices blasters being PO'd because of the nerf to smoke grenade. You could basically snuff enemy tohit with just that power and stand behind your caltrops and blast away forever.

I remember now. They did put a timer on Dreck. Like it stopped anyone from finding a different farm mish. There were lots of them to choose from.

I don't remember the last one though. I got out of farming after a while and just played. If I wanted to level fast, there was AE.

That reminds me. I never got to finish my origin story for my main in AE.

Me too.

I was an old fart, get-off-my-damn-lawn style, cranky old fart well before my time at age 40-something. One day I went upstairs to see why my stepson (16-ish at the time, IIRC) hadn't even bothered to come downstairs to eat. Not EAT?! That's all teenage boys did (after, you know, private stuff involving way too much Kleenex). Some magical thing (this was really before internet porn) could somehow sideline his only apparent (non-Kleenex) focus in life: EATING.

I watched. It looked chaotic, but he was poking like mad at the keyboard. I started interjecting, "omg, RUN! What IS that thing??!" Ooow. ouch. sorry man.".  I'm thinking, ha-ha, LOL, you all died, yet he was laughing. Then the team re-formed, and after 7 or 8 chat exchanges, they pulled (whatever) around a corner, laid (something), backed off just enough and spewed (various cool-looking and sounding somethings) from nearby until bad guys started falling face-down until only that one really tough dude was left, then they all rushed in fighting wildly, and with a little sustained effort and a few more tragedies, prevailed. Then came the post-superbowl-like "We effing DID IT. BLERG. MOOM. GERP," and other secret-online words in all caps. They just ponied (pawned? boned? ew!) something called a "task force." Whatever... I'm old(er) and I don't care about fun. Dinner's waiting.

But then, fun is obviously FUN -- I'm not stupid. So when nobody was looking I spun up an account, got online, and was absolutely pancaking hooked.

"Friggin Alex", I will always owe you for reminding me what fun is supposed to look like: City of Heroes.

Anyone having high hopes for some new info this week :) Acc. to Ironwolf, the team was ready to present something reasonable soon.

I feel a tingeling in my stomach so maybe something is happening.

I to have a good feeling we will hear something on August 31st most likely maybe they want to keep it a surprise until then who knows this is getting exciting.

Alright I know that there has been some discussion about this over the course of this thread and people have given many opinions, but what games would you guys honestly recommend that I play while waiting for the potential return of CoH MMO wise?

Okay, I REALLY gotta ask. You get inherent Teleport, which (for me anyway) was the only travel power I needed all the way to level 50. At level 6 you can nova in order to fly (and also hedge against tele-plummet if that's your problem). So who the heck needs the flight pool? What am I missing here? It can't be Air Superiority or Afterburner... no way.

To get reacquainted with CoX, I would spend time in Icon, and also watch YouTube videos that players made during actual gaming sessions. As to current games to occupy your time, I'm afraid there's nothing out there that doesn't, in some way, suffer by comparison to CoX, so try something that looks promising, and take it at its own value. I'm in Champions Online and Star Trek Online, myself. STO's space setting makes a nice "flavor" change of pace, and CO lets me act out my superhero fantasies while I wait for CoX.

Linux. Because a world without walls or fences won't need Windows or Gates.

Super Firebug

In CO, I had made a tribute to Raven from the Teen Titans animated series (NOT Teen Titans Go!). It actually looked really good, and I suddenly wondered if I would be able to bring her over to CoX. Unfortunately, trying to copy her in Icon was very disappointing. The CO version looks much more like the original (except with a cape instead of a cloak). I was surprised that, for example, Icon has no belt even remotely resembling Raven's.

Some just hate teleport I guess, or perhaps it's that they had no choice on the matter.

Similar to how some granite armor tanks and brutes had teleport so they could zap around as needed when in granite/rooted.

I believe they simply wish to be given the ability to fly at nova-speeds without having to turn into the squid, for RP reasons or aesthetics.
