Speaking of mean Clockworks, I have a question that's been bugging me for years. Back in the early COH -- we're talking pre-arena, like issue 2 or 3 -- I seem to remember Clockwork having a much different, much more aggressive, much much more persistent Aggro AI. Aggro them once and they would chase you the length of the Earth (or at least Atlas Park). It was nearly impossible to shake them off.

I remember encountering and occasionally triggering massive Clockwork storms in KR -- like over 50 of them in unending pursuit -- associated with their "build" areas around the power stations -- I'd just run and hide in the Transit Authority building and they'd attack the drones until they burned out -- a couple even got through into the building -- but I stopped seeing that at least 2 years before shutdown.  (I played almost all my alts through most of the low-level content even though I could easily get to 10 without bothering with KR and never teaming or AE-ing -- I just liked playing the game through)

I think that was the moment Cartman was truely turned into a very evil bastard.  Very, very evil bastard.  Yes, I know, it'll censor me.

And now I'm re-considering the name of my planned Thugs/Pain MM.
Boss Cartman. Sampling delicious tears since 3rd grade.

But the character builder won't let you do a fat character

I can't imagine they actually got mad, maybe puzzled thouigh. I don't see how anyone could be upset because you sold on the market as you wanted to.

The entire philosophy of the market was based on "No one is forcing you to buy or to sell. The seller sets the price and the buyer decides what they are willing to pay."

That said, I'll be glad to buy the recipes off you and save you the hassle of crafting. :)

I saved millions by buying recipes and crafting them myself

People are talking about the auction again or something?  I made 98% of my influence on auction....(the 2% was influence earned getting the drops).

I can honestly say I got a lot of my money and Io's two ways solo Posi on using three accounts at once I had access to buddy accounts 4 in all and three computers (before they changed the TF), AE bronze ticket roles man you know how many kinetic combats dropped I used them to IO out one of my toons and pay for the rest

Not grossly but you can get pretty chunky with the right parts...

Was her name Ice Ice Baby?  ;D

OMG HOW DID YOU KNOW?!!!!!!!

...but no, her name was Eyes of Ice. I recall choosing the name after not having had her optimal name be availible, but I can't remember what that was now >.< Was a cool character, so to speak....

Maybe an AR/Cold Corruptor??

my AR Corruptor is an AR/Traps Corruptor... I had that toon for about 2 years and was a lot of fun to play and very helpful on teams, TFs, and trials :)

AR is a good contender because the weapons availible don't look so dramatic. Have been dubious in the past because it didn't -look- like so much fun. But I could be wrong :D And as I said, wanna do something same but new - she has the military connections to do gadgets and weaponry and such. Though with the recolouration lotsa sets can be made icey... Aww, I want the game now >.<

So many ideas flowing through my mind since the possibility of playing again arose.  Having Icons and Mids handy while not actually being able to play the game, is sort of bittersweet.  I want to play so bad, but can't so I play with the tools...which just makes me want to play even more!  Haha
Reminder: No game = No data, no characters...nothing.  However, no data/characters != No game.

Same thing here. During the game I always had my builds done for me. Learning to use Mid's is fulling my time....I'm ready to do my test run now please.
In the end, we all are heroes, even the Villains; fighting to save a city that we all love.

I forget which issue it was but they changed the mobs so they would only follow so far before returning to where they were spawned. I know it was one of the later issues but the exact one escapes me.

I remember being chased all over the zones and having to hide in the transit station too. When I read it was being changed I didn't know whether to be happy or sad. :)

I seem to remember that it was part of the Freedom update, possibly as an anti-griefing measure.

I think you might be right. It would put it at about the time I remember the change being made.

Id love to do some test runs too.. I think I am Mids adept enough to know exactly how the build should play out.. but testing is always the ultimate measuring stick..

I remember one of my introduction to COH when they dragged a GM to Atlas when I was training and then proceed to lose agro on purpose needles to say I died

I laughed hard oh the days of I2 and then we had the Winterloards get xp standing at the train station

question for the group - anyone know if there's a functional mid's for mac's available? I'd LOVE to spin up some toons prior to getting our game back, alas I no longer own a PC so I can't use mids and suckerpunch's has been gone for ages.

also - major thanks to Ironwolf and the buyers for their efforts to date. Regardless of the outcome, it's been impressive to watch this unfold.

I got the game after CoV came out, and I kinda remember the clockwork being rather...dogged...in their pursuit as well.

During a zone event in Kings Row, the Clockwork were swarming. I got entangled with them near the hospital, and when they started to overwhelm me, I ducked into the hospital to get away from them. There must have been too many of them for the police drones to handle, because, to my utter shock, some of them managed to follow me INTO the hospital, and we had it out in the lobby! That's the only time I can recall seeing bad-guy NPCs in a public building like that. What's next, Hellions in City Hall?
Linux. Because a world without walls or fences won't need Windows or Gates.

SpectaPhantom

I'm not sure when it was changed but I remember being chased to the ends of the earth enemies that could fly, mostly the clockwork. I could always get away from the ground ones but not them.
