Yeah, but seriously, the dog wasn't worth ANYTHING close to how much it woulda cost to get one fur sure.

To me, it'd be one of those things that you may end up with as a special bonus, it shouldn't have been something anyone really expected considering the rarity.

Thats kind of the way it is with vehicles in CO from boxes.  I made a post in the titan CO sub forum about vehicle balance to.  But they are just a bonus anymore.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

I would have done the same thing. I hated the jerks who thought doing that was funny even though I never had it happen to me.
I had very few negative experiences in CoX.  One was being tp'd way up in the air while I was on a team in the Hollows, and dropped into a huge spawn.  This was around, I dunno, I5-I7, or whenever, so I got debt and had no travel power to get back from the hospital and it felt like a big deal at the time.

Then I found out I could turn on the prompt for teleportation and it stopped being an issue.

There were some toolbags who played, but my experience was so far at the other end of the spectrum most of the time that I was able to recognize them as the exception to a generally good-hearted rule.

It's always fun to hear stories about jerks getting their come-uppance, though. :)

Only a small percentage of players were jerks and I rarely ran into them. I just disliked it when I heard about the mean stuff people would pull on others.

Except when I was a villain of course.  ;D

Not in CoX, but in Neocron my wife used to like tricking newbie hunting griefers to follow her into this one sewer that had an almost invisible dead drop into a pit of poison spitting plants. By the time they'd get back to their corpses looking for revenge she would be gone... if they were lucky. If they were unlucky I'd be waiting with a maxed character armed with a really big cannon.

That is definitely another game I miss (and I don't think its even gone, just changed to much to enjoy).

What is it with rare items (and lottery wins) going to people who play once? Drives me crazy...er. :)

Thought. What if during these talks, NC Soft decides to keep the game, realizing they can still make money off it. Then they throw a counter proposal to the group. Bringing them on to continue it. Taking over for Paragon Studios in a sense. Was this brought up yet?

I am having a hard time fallowing the "updates" in this thread... too much clutter... not bad clutter. But still.

I got it on one of my accounts but not the other. It was basically just a re-skinned wolf/dog from the store. It had no combat bonus and effected gameplay not at all. I didn't even know I had it for a while. Seriously, not a big deal. I would have been glad to give it to you if I could. I didn't realize anybody would want one that bad.

I'm going to have to open up that file I downloaded on the compilation of rude tells stories.

However, Statesman's Pal? Never heard that one.

It was a title.  A couple guys in beta sported it, the aforementioned griefers.  Earned by being punked by Statesman :)

While its not inconceivable, I would imagine that NCSoft would realize that the feelings run to strong for many people to trust the game (and in some people's cases any game they produce) to not face another unexpected shut-down if directly under their banner. This would prevent the sales that would make holding on to it profitable. Selling it off seems to make the most sense as they get the money from the sale of the IP, possibly money from the sale or license fee for the engine (at least at first), a slight bump in their rep (as they can basically start saying that they weren't unwilling to sell all along, they just were waiting for the right buyers), and even a little bit of advertising (since the NCSoft Logo will probably stick around, perhaps even on CoH2 depending on the contract stipulations).

My obsessiveness in all things used to be pretty off the hook, though I'm mellower about it these days. Family tragedies put the importance of virtual pets in perspective...

Though yes I'd still technically want the black dog if the game relaunched. :)

I think after all the time I played CoH I only put 2 people on ignore. I did like the rating system so I could 1 star problem folks and make notes as to why they got that.

I only ever put one person on ignore that wasn't a spammer. That was a guy who kept trying to pick up my character (and my character wasn't even dressed provocatively). He was the type who if I had an ignore button in real life and he was trying to pick me up I'd have used it.

Of the two folks I put on perma ignore, one got there for lying to me. Apparently so desperate to get on the team, the player lied to me saying a teammate wanted me to have him join. Well since I know all my teammates in RL it only took a minute to figure out what was going on. The other person on perma ignore was done so because they kept going off on overtly sexual innuendo while on a hamidon raid.

Yeah, I had a few experiences of people trying to "pick up" my character, its a superhero game folks :) not a date sim.
