Yes, but who wouldn't want to play on Freem and Hoorb?!?    :P

I'd be fine with changing Freedom to "Freem"....it's just a couple letters dropped.... (haha)

I was mostly on Protector, occasionally on Pinnacle. Quiet enough, and I never had trouble teaming when I wanted to, so it was a nice balance. I got on Protector way before I found out about its reputation as being the soloing server, but it worked out perfectly, since I mostly soloed. :)

Again, wouldn't be simpler just to use the original server names?

Doesn't sound like from what codewalker posted that it will save money since the servers were virtual and tasks were split between physical machines to balance load. This resolves duplicate names for characters (assuming we can get them) and SG's without doing anything extra at all.
I would vote for that just to save the time needed to sort out which server was which.  ("Hey...which one is the RP server guys?")    And there would of course be people attached to the old names just like everything else about the game.  (I don't mind changing names personally)

As a badger, I would love this and it would cause me to login on every character I have (unless it is account wide. Shoot, I'll probably do that login thang anyway!)
Heck yeah.

I'll bet we can all figure out which character to log in first....but what about which character to log in 2nd?

Something tells me I would play each one for 10 minutes the first day.

I don't either but if we get our old data back, I would rather not. But if we have to, we have to. To me it's just easier to restore as is (with data) than to try and create a new server name list that requires a lot of work to get everyone restarted. Could easily save a month on relaunch. (Assuming we get the old data back of course, otherwise nevermind)

I have a list that has each server sorted by character name. I would need to log them in that way to make sure I don't miss one. I missed an anniversary badge because I didn't.

Sorry I see no "exploding" FB pages on this.  The COH I visited had 22 views... so I probably am missing something.

Seconding this request: What CoX FB page are you guys looking at, with people going ballistic? I have several bookmarked and they're all deader than coffin nails. Linky, please?

I just want to amuse myself, its amazing the conclusions people will jump to on almost no information.  8)

Freedom I can understand...But Virtue?   I started out on Champion then moved to Virtue and made it my home.  Was it perhaps it was more geared to RPers?

Virtue was geared to Awesome. Mature player-base and RP not necessary.

Guardian: "LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOY JEEEEENKIINS!" *TF is now hopelessly borked, thanks Leeroy.*

Freedom: "Yeah really, well UR MOM!" and this was the Freedom version of witty banter. Ugh.

Infinity: "Don't bother coming here unless you know someone, 'cause this server is comprised of several cliques and if you aint in one, you're not teaming here." [I do miss HRoT, though. It was like an MMO version of WWF.  8) ]

I don't think he's refering to people going on hostile mode, just posting like mad.  Funnily enough, I think what is happening is people see this on facebook, come to the titan forums, register and then say whatever they want to say most the time.
Currently; Not doing any streaming, found myself with less time available recently.  Still playing starbound periodically, though I am thinking of trying other games.  Don't tell me to play mmohtg's though please :).  Getting back into participating in VO and the successors again to.

May as well jump into this thread as I read it several times a day.  Have to keep the SG updated, after all.  ;-)

CC takes great care of us  ;)

A little surprised that the usual suspects of our SG haven't popped in to see whats going on.  I dunno, it *is* July, mebbe everyone is on vacation?

CC and the rest of us Fusion Force regulars were mostly on the Triumph server, a quiet little server but adorable in its smallness.

That's why I moved to Freedom.   Was nice to be able to do a search and have all those players available to form a team.   When I wasn't feeling social I went into hiding.   Option.

But I totally get those who like the wide open feel of the lesser populated servers too.   I'm not sure if it's feasible for the new owners to support enough servers to have a "less crowded" one, but it's a real thing to a lot of players.
I had characters on more-populated and less-populated servers.  A small SG over on Pinnacle, another on Champion, started our villains over on Victory when CoV dropped, but started on Virtue initially.

The characters I cared about all ended up on Virtue, mainly due to the availability of teams and TF opportunities more or less all the time.  There were always teams forming and always TFs getting underway, and if there weren't, forming them on Virtue was usually quick and painless.  When I just wanted to log in and run papers or AE or do random badging or whatnot, I could.

I'll end up on a higher-pop server, mainly because I like having more options that make it easier for an introvert to find a team when I want one.

Quote from: Felderburg on July 09, 2014, 07:38:39 PMI'm operating under the assumption that there will be fewer servers than there were originally, so original names would be a bad way to go, since people whose server was left off the new list would be angry.
Interesting point.   If there are less servers, as you point out that would require that some are forced to move.

Now...if you keep the original names those people on the discontinued servers might feel resentment.   However...won't they know their server was discontinued no matter what?    I'm assuming here that a person playing on a renamed server which is kept will know they didn't have to move and vice versa for those on the discontinued server.

Seems like there is no real benefit to renaming for that reason.
QuoteRP by itself is one thing, but it had a reputation for having a lot of ERP, which probably kept some people away.
I had to google that...yikes!  (hey...to each their own though)

There's a server in WoW noted for that...I peeked once because surely it wasn't as bad as folks said.

Yes, yes it was...

Virtue seemed to absolutely live up to it's name, compared to that!

LOL   I admit I never saw that :)   I was never really big on RPing, though. (For some reason, I could never get into RPing on the computer....if I am going to RP, it is going to be around a table with real dice LOL)  LOL   And even if I COULD...I would NEVER have gone for THAT  (Kinda icky, being a straight male that most often played female toons LOL

But yeah...I can see how that would turn some one off.  That rates high on my EWWWWW  scale LOL.

Another thing that might have kept people away besides ERPG, was that you had audition to get into a group. They were almost all closed membership and yo could only be invited by someone who knew you and generally only if you passed muster by the SG leaders. If you look at SG recruitment for the RP server it could be rough.

I just wanted a casual RPG SG that wouldn't freak out if I forgot to speak only in character and or said something Meta in chat. Apparently, a big taboo with some groups.
