I'd suggest they just release all current non-achievement pieces for free and anything obtained through gameplay would be obtained throuh gameplay as susual, but any subsequently released pieces would be purchase, etc.
that way, nobody loses all of their items, and it's the only way to assure those who invested a lot in recieving what they paid for.

Don't forget edition bonuses. The cape and power slide sprint from the DVD version, the cape and emblem from the Villains one, the power, jump jet, and badge from VIP, the costume from the AE edition, the enhancements and costumes from Going Rouge. These were big things to me too as much as the vet rewards. I'd hate to start over considering that, my huge badge collection, the money I had on hand to support my friends and alts, even my names which I know some wanted on my server, but I played regularly and don't look forward to fighting over. As far as that last bit goes I wish they had though of what they thought of in CO for CoX and wonder how hard the hidden @whatever would be to add now.

That being said I wouldn't mind having to start over from scratch, really it's the bonus stuff and names that would hurt me any, plus some of the store stuff, some of my characters made good use of booster packs or used powersets from the store. I'd start over if I have to, what I want the most would be getting the game back, but I'm sure many others would agree if we couldn't handle the name thing fairly then a lot of people will feel a lot of frustration.

That wouldn't be a big deal for me either, don't get me wrong, I'd rather have all my lvl 50 chars back but starting from them scratch wouldn't be a big deal for me. Having said that, the loss of extra character slots I purchased on Defiant and later on on Freedom, vet rewards that allowed me using the invention system on F2P etc... now that would be really annoying for me and I suspect it would also be really annoying for many other people.

My hope, while possibly fleeting, is that they give everyone everything from the store and perk or bonus and vet reward ever created up to that point (excluding anything tucked in the back for later release of course and anything you bought in amounts like respecs, enhancement sets, inventory increases, though I'd like to see out slots come back, I had all but 5 purchased on Triumph up til the end) to everyone to welcome us back and celebrate getting it back. Then after that make them buy-able by new coming players (after a month or so) and feel free to add new things to that store (with in reason, I'd like to see them continue the practice of new issues being free for all and for every like 2 or 3 store powersets or costume sets, us getting a free one.)

That is my biggest personal concern really. I put a lot of money into that game after it went free to play (several hundred dollars), and I had a lot of costume packs and goodies. My primary concern is for things that were not readily available from the paragon market. We had the Halloween pack that was only available for a month out of the year containing several costume pieces that I used heavily (Namely the liquid-filled brain helment, fish man gloves and vampire cape collar), as well as the special anniversary reward for those who maintained a subscription during a particular period which rewarded you with an Arachnos and Stateman chest emblem plus the Zeus and Tartarus helms, which was not acquirable in any other way. If the new team makes these particular goodies available, even if it's only for a short period right after re-launch for a special celebration, then I have no concerns otherwise, but without the brain helmet I can't make two of my favorite characters, the vampire cape is an essential piece of another favorite, and without the Zeus helm I simply cannot create my absolute favorite character anymore.

For all those who seems to have discovered this thread when it was existing long ago, there are people who has been doing so already since Page 1. If I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath to get news right away.

Ironwolf already explained it's a long process and even if there was a meeting today, it doesn't mean infos would come today or anything like that. All this is a long, painful but necessary process

I had maxed out slots on Liberty on two separate accounts. Every booster Pack, All the powersets, all the edition bonuses, the incarnate stuff, just about everything you can name.

I hope that we can get back the things we had bought as far as costume pieces and the like, I wouldn't enjoy losing all my inf (others had more but 22 billion was enough for my needs) but I can make that again. I had multiple SG bases, 4 on Liberty and one on almost every other server. I doubt we'll see those again soon. They were stocked with stealth enhancements, purples and the like. I think I cleaned them out and then exported my guys but I know I didn't get everything.

I had a full set of base salvage that i had set up in Museum of the Odd SG. I doubt that will happen, but it was cool to have,

There are lots of little odd things that we probably won't get back if they can't reactivate our old accounts but the costume pieces are important. I really need those. So I hope there is a way to get them.

I still have my confirmation emails for my purchases back to 2009 so I'm sure if needed I could use those but I would bet most people don't have them.

We'll just have to wait and see what is possible and go from there. It will be an awesome problem to have if we have to decide what characters to re-roll and which costume pieces we have to replace.

Besides, it's awesome to see so many people excited about the possible return of our game. SO many interesting stories and positive energy. I'm loving what people miss and what they hope will happen being posted.

Even if this effort doesn't bear fruit, it has been enlivening to have hope, even if it is a very long shot.

also one could consider this thread a collection of concerns, desires, wish, and possible issues that the people rescuing and bringing our game back could use to see what they need to consider and tackle along the road to recovery....I hope if the server info is still around (I'm sure they already repurposed the hardware ; _ ;  ) that they get Triumph.

Maybe, depending on your email. I get emails that I auto filter straight to trash, with the subject "Topic Reply: Titan.... blablabla". But in that email, is a line: "A reply has been posted to a topic you are watching by USERNAME." If you can filter by email content, then you might be able to filter the way you want.
