Man, I seriously feel like one of these days, I'll hop onto here, and find news that CoH/CoV is coming back...

That is pretty much why all of us still come to this thread.  It certainly isn't for the topic specific conversation, as that is more the exception, than the rule.  ;)

Let's face it...if it does come back, this thread will be locked, and perhaps stickied for historical purposes.  But, we will have moved on the sections, and threads that talk about the joy of being back in Paragon City!

True.  However, unlike those other things, CoH doesn't have to be that way.  It was relegated to that status by the will of earthly beings, whose motivation to take it away from us was pure profit motive, and their motivation for keeping it away from us is the same.  Beings whose dreams revolve around the almighty dollar (and all that implies), rather than the joy of sharing what they helped create with those who love it.  Those who are even willing to pay for the privilege, but are not allowed because it is not enough to satisfy the greed of the owners.

Word has it that a somewhat recently closed (by a few months or so; most of this year, at least) Asian restaurant in town will be coming back.  If only NCSoft would let our game do likewise, we would be much happier people.

Yes, and as much as I love Paragon Chat, I'll be the first to admit that it kind of serves to keep the wound from healing.  Talk about your double-edged swords!

I would give my eye teeth for this.  I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who occasionally has dreams that the game has returned and I get to log on and show all my friends what the fuss was about.

There are a lot of games that I play - and a lot that I have "branched out" into since CoH closed; I tell myself that if it ever came back I would probably just be a casual player rather than my original "rabid" hours per day habit.

Deep down I know that's not true.  I'd be right back to hours each day and loving it.  It has literally been the only game I've ever played that I could say that about!
