I'm a historian by training and I can tell you that what you are doing is exceptionally difficult. Imagine it like this, as a historian, you come across some ancient text and you can recognize only every 10th word or so even the alphabet is recognized. In fact, you discover that it is a written language based on a spoken language you don't know and can't identify. (Think Linear A or Etruscan) From that you have to try and decipher what it is saying.

GAAAAHHHHH!  I hope to HELL there's more hope for reverse engineering CoH than for translating Linear A or Etruscan!

I'm going with support because I know about half the population is gonna be scrappers and brutes(easy for me to get on teams). On the other hand, if I24 goes live, we may see a lot of people chasing the snipe/to-hit build. Thoughts?

I would roll my first toon which was a MA / SR scrapper.   Back in those days (Pre-ED) when you hit like level 41 you could respec to all passives with perma-Elude and get rid of all your defense toggles.  Fun times :)

For teaming, my kin/sonic defender.  Never had another character that I consistently felt simultaneously kicked ass while making everybody else on the team better to the same degree.

For solo, my ss/ea brute.  Because I miss being strong and pretty.

Egads! The only thing I can think about is making sure I'm able to secure the names of my primary toons first! I don't even want to claim any new ones (ok, maybe just one) I just want to restore what I've lost. Hell I'm prepared to pay for early access to do so, assuming such a thing is possible. :-)

Will be rolling my 5 favorite characters first... hopefully not all of my names will have been taken.
A tanker, scrap, brute,  troller, and blaster.  The brute will be leveled first so he can start farming tickets.

The obvious inference and insults aside, that is an absolutely true statement.

Don't expect to change other people's minds simply because you think you know more than they do.

As for this effort, I absolutely do hope it works out.

The first character I'll play obviously can't be my favorite (a Warshade) due to the level requirement, so I think I'll opt for a scrapper....close enough. ;)

Well, I'd point out that if things go absolutely ideally as planned, the first place you'll be building characters is in an open Beta environment, so they won't necessarily be permanent characters.

But I'd still go with a speed themed scrapper with regen so I don't have to rest.
