Yeah, I always wanted to try an All-Troller or Troller/Defender TF myself. Really wanted to see what they could accomplish without the melee classes.

All Troller or Defender teams were very fun.The most interesting part was attacking each new spawn
and trying to finds ways to take the alpha strike and not dying.

I ran some all-defender missions with my Empathy/Energy and my Kin/Rad with the Repeat Offenders SG. Totally game-breaking when you have several buffs on each teammate and several debuffs on the enemies, even more so if you had experienced people who were attentive about re-casting the buffs.

Very true.Tanks, scrappers,PB's (and for some reason blasters thinking they are a tank)kind of took the fun out finding interesting and creative ways around taking on mob after mob or even pulling more than one mob and not get everyone killed :)

That reminds me of the time I was trying my hand at Tanking for the group I regularly played with. We had a Defender, 2 blasters, and myself as a Will/SS Tank. We entered a mission, and while I was tanking the first group, little did I know that the Defender has slipped away and pulled every other mob on the floor into the fight. Unfortunately, I'm not the greatest at holding Aggro, since I haven't Tanked all that much, and everyone, except the Tank face-planted. The rest of the group waited while I Punched, Slugged, and Haymakered the baddies into submission. After the fight was when I found out that the floor had been cleared. I was surprised that I had survived the Multi-mob battle. This Tank was made more for Character reasons and not Min/Max reasons. Although, there were some Min/Max choices used, when they met the Character Development criteria.

And I've done the all assault blaster TFs.  everything is full auto'd to death.  Nevermind the buffs, debuffs or pets.

This is something I never got to see.I wonder if an all Blaster team would be the toughest (ALL whatever)
to run?Sounds like it would be intense.

I bought lots of purples and I didn't see purples drop down to 200mil or less until we got enhancement converters. Before that it was common to pay 400 - 800 mil for Armageddon's and Ragnarok's. The pvp defense and resist procs floated near 1.5 to 2 bil and the panacea set varied from time to time but most always ranged in the 300 - 600 mil with it's proc staying around the 1bil mark until converters of course.

Depends on if you're talking about market value during a given time period, or "buy it nao" prices, which were often a good 100m-150m more just for the convenience of not having to wait 24 hours for the bid to fill.

I did a lot of markerteering from 2010 through early 2012. All my price references are pre-converter. I stopped about 2 weeks before converters went live, expecting that the market would become rather chaotic for a while, and never got back into it.

I still have the spreadsheets I used to keep track of it all and determine which items I made the most profit on and were most effective per day of total turnaround time so... let's see...  Keep in mind that my MO was to buy the recipe, craft it, and sell the crafted IO, so my buy prices are for recipes, and my sell prices are for IOs.

Skipping past all of the other random stuff I traded in -- lots of Adjusted Targeting, Red Fortune, non-global LotG, Decimation, BotZ -KB, and many other random pieces that you wouldn't think would be in demand but actually did quite well when trading in large volumes... Okay, here's the purples.

Looks like I was consistently buying Absolute Amazement for 70-100m and selling for a 50-75m profit. My buy price crept up to 150m in mid-2011, but went back down after a month or so. I did quite well with Unbreakable Constraint and Gravitational Anchor, buying for 120-150m and selling for anywhere from 175m-250m.

What about the "good*" purples you might ask? Armageddons and Hecatombs I have hovering around 400m most of the time, dropping down to 300m often and spiking up to 500m a few times. The crafted versions I was obviously selling at 'buy it nao' prices for more than that, but getting the recipes was not hard as I tended not to waste auction slot on anything that took a long time to fill. There may well have been 800m spikes that I sat out rather than waste influence on, but they were short lived as my auction history is fairly consistent and doesn't have many gaps.

Looks like I also dabbled some in non-proc PVP Glad Armor pieces (End/Rech/Resist mostly), buying for anywhere from 150m-300m.

* I don't consider the mez purples to be any less "good" than the damage ones. Better, actually, since controllers and especially dominators benefit more from recharge than just about any other AT, and those sets could usually be had for cheaper, while having the exact same set bonuses. The mez ones also tended to be more useful for the enhancement value, while the damage ones just pushed you into ridiculous values that got knocked down by ED. Even Absolute Amazement with its rather niche slotting type I used in quite a few builds -- excellent for both Fire and Earth Control.

The only real junky purple set was Fortunata's Hyponosis with its different bonuses, and the Mastermind set for a variety of reasons (but it at least had a half decent proc).

I ran in an all-Blaster STF.  We took down Black Scorpion but we could not make it past Mako.  Didn't even try Widow and Scirocco.

Wonder how that same team would have fared in I24, with all the Blaster improvements.

Well, first if everyone has their sonic and FF shields, you can laugh at the alpha.

If you have a plant or electric controller, you just confuse everything before you finish the preceding group.

No purples ever sold for 3 billion, at least to anyone sane. Most tended to go for around 100-200m, though at times there were spikes of up to 500m for some of the more desirable ones.

The only IO I know of that regularly sold off-market for >2b was the Gladiator's Armor: +3% Defense PVP IO, which was actually orange, not purple. Even that could be had for 2 billion flat if you were patient and left a bid on the market, it just took a while. Typical off-market prices for it were around 2.25b-2.5b. If you paid 3b, you got ripped off, or you just really had to have it right this second.

Once Converters were a thing, the purple market sagged a bit, and the Glad Armor market crashed, as suddenly all the other PVP recipes that nobody wanted could be turned into them with some merits.

Sorry - I lumped the Gladiator in with the purples. That was the one I got. It was not something I really needed and so selling it was no great loss to me!

Done a few all-blaster and all scrapper TFs.  Quite the experience.

What I have still on my bucket list: and all mastermind task force, either zombies or robots for theme reasons (team "zombie apocalypse" or team "robot uprising").

I'm sure it would be your basic "wall of pets overruns everything while the team points and laughs" scenario.

I did a mostly Mastermind TF once, like 5 of 8 were MMs.  The rooms got so full of pets it was hard to tell what was going on.  I can only imagine a full team of MMs.

It's a lagfest.  We used to do all MM TFs/SFs.  They're doable but unleashing 48+ pets at once tends to overload the connection a bit.  What's really fun is an 8x8 league of all MMs.

It is and not all TFs can be done.  They're good at mowing down minions and LTs and Bosses but not much else.  Still a lot of fun though.
