Did you know...?

I know we already have some good guides but I've been thinking lately how it might be handy/entertaining to mention handy/entertaining tidbits of info we've picked up over time. Like a newb's guide I guess.

Ok, so, I just found out that if I click on a power and drag it anywhere off the power bar and release, it will attempt to fully charge. This is handy for summoning pets, powers that proc on a full charge, buffs..

Another handy way to ensure a power attempts to fully charge before it goes off is to assign it to a (be careful which one(s) you choose) 'Special Key' (in key binds) like right-click or double right-click. This is what I do for stuff that I use a lot and is useless unless it fully charges.

More to come...

That's a good thing to know. I've met players of CO who've been around for years who didn't know that.

When they un-randomized Alerts people started turbo-exiting them a lot more. That's when/where I got this tip. In one of the first teams I was in after the un-randomization, someone had helpfully hotkeyed something like, "Don't be left in Alerts alone! Socrates/Leave Current Map/Exit"

A quick way to get to your hideout - r-click your picture and select the option.

Besides 'click & drag' from the power bar, and 'Special Keys' from the Bind menu, this also works to charge/maintain a power with a single click -

-
To bind a power so it stays on until something else cancels it:

/bind <input> PowerTrayExec 1 <slot #>

How do I make my shield toggle on, so I don't need to hold the key?
/bind SHIFT PowerTrayExec 1 16

~~ <input> is the hotkey, <slot #> is the slot # on your powers bar, SHIFT is just an example - another key can be used ~~

(from http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=81117 which is a good hotkey/macro helper link)

If you play long enough then you'll eventually get the mouse-trails bug.

Click on the scrollbar on the right in the Chat window and slide it alllll the way up and then allll the way down and it'll go away.

Wait.... what? Why should that have any effect on it? What the hell, Cryptic?

You can scale the UI. This comes in handy if you're running in low res, like me with my 'old' 720p tv.

Chat box text can be scaled independently,

If you scale both while running in low res then you get ghetto hi-res  : D The game graphics look awesomely fine and tax your video card ~ half as much than running in 1080p or higher.

This could help if you have an old video card and want to run the game on max graphics, too. Just drop your res and adjust your UI, My 6ish year old video card that died recently could run virtually everything @ Max settings @ 720p res and it looked great.

You can also get rid of mouse trails by opening your options menu and wiggling pretty much any of the sliders back and forth a bit. So, for instance: option>controls>mouse look sensitivity>wigglewigglewiggle>cancel. It doesn't save the changes but makes the trails go away.

It also seems, at least for me, I only get the trails when I alt-tab out of the game. If I stay in game they aren't a problem.

Questionite that's in Q boxes is already refined. Allowing you to go over the 8k per day limit.

Sometimes certain Archetypes can be bought from other players. I saw The Scourge for sale in-game for G's some days ago.

That was from a grab bag a long time ago, before they moved to doing lockboxes instead. The Scourge and the Mountain I think are the only ones you can get ingame. There was a nighthawk grab bag too but I don't think the Night Avenger was in it.

I wanna post this as a did-you-know but haven't actually tried it yet...

Did you know.. (I think) You can change your AT to another AT you own (this incudes all Silver AT's) for Free via the Re-Train button?

I never thought to even check this out before due to there is a big 'Z' on the Re-Train button, but, after clicking on it out of curiosity it says I can change any of my AT's to any other AT I own for free.

So, if the theory holds, I could be able to get lucky someday and buy The Scourge from another player, for example, and change my boring (not-so inside joke..) Mind AT for free! Without having to delete him and lose all his toys and re-level.

Pretty sure those retrains do cost.

If you read the text it says the opposite but I'm not willing to try it yet, either.

We're still kinda newbish here, ya know? Take this, for example. It has to be a newb question and neither one of us are sure of the answer.
