Wow, I took a toon that I was mostly happy with (ranged tank) and put him into the PH for some minor power change tweaks, and then, I dunno how many gear changes & completely different retcons later.... I finally stepped out with a ... support toon???

Wha!?

He's been Gravi Approved(tm) and I tossed Aura of Ebon Destruction (seems the dpsiest choice to swap Radiant Protection with?) along with a few choice powers from the Fire power pool for the other 99% of the game. He's got Circle of Primal Dominion buried way down in his build that I would kinda like to retcon out but.. I guess if I want to solo him in some of the tougher places then that might be handy while I level up something tankier and dpsier for the job. I did mini-retcon a few support powers out already to exchange for the Fire stuff, once I saw that they weren't being useful. But that was planned for. He'll probably stay pretty much as-is for the duration.

Besides a tanky tank w/respectable dps for stuff like decent Lair soloing, also want to do a pure fire guy... Already have his build & gear picked out.

and then.... *shrug* I know I have ~ 10 billion builds to reference for ideas, now..

Although.... There for awhile I was starting to wonder if I would ever make it outta the PH! I haven't even been running dailies since I dunno when.

I just wish power selections were more straightforward in CO.
Or that there was an actual build planner worthy of the name (Powerhouse is useless).

PH is way far from useless! You may want to give it another chance.

After being spoiled by Mids... I had the same attitude when starting up with CO and posted it here. But then I started using the PH with the Wiki and some links that explain things even further, and voila, things click.

One big thing that PH does is let you know where you can put your points. It also lets you know where you can put your powers. Essential info. Now all you need to do is find out the details of said powers and points and that is what the wiki and my other trusty links (that I got from here tyvm) are for. I listed the links in another recent thread here for the guy that just got his first FF, ryuplaneswalker.

The major hole, here, is gear. You don't get to see your stats. I'm still new to this process and I dunno a better way yet but what I did was just buy gear for the builds I wanted to try.. 2 packs (including mods)  & a gazillion retcons later and I had it! err.. lol  : )

Something else nice about PH is you can Save your builds for future reference.
