Weird things that get you thinking about COH -

When I started back in 2004 - within a few months I joined a SG where we had members that played like every day and we did missions together, lots of TF's and just generally hung together for hours at a time.

The SG leader had a tank that was called Freddy Mercury and looked exactly like the QUEEN singer, even one of his costumes was right out of the "Another One Bites the Dust" video.

Now every time I watch that video or hear the song I am drawn back to those great days of fun at the beginning before the game got bogged down with 300 zones and IO's and ED and a fire tank to herd 100 mobs and burn the crap out of them and regen scrappers were like gods.

CoH was my first introduction to the term "5th Column". Now when I hear it in movies or documentaries, I can only picture Reichsman.

License plates that have the correct Vidiotmaps abbreviations in them.  COT or C0T, whichever.  BNP gets me, as Texas plates are currently about there on the new 7 letter generics.  It's for BaNished Pantheon in Vidiotmap.

Pretty much any fantasy, action, or sci-fi shows and movies I watch, I automatically think of what kind of new characters I could make.

I just watched Superman Vs. The Elite, Superman Unbound, and Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox over the last two days... yeah, I'm hurting for some CoH because of it.

I get CoH memories from things I overhear. for example: A news broadcast gave me the idea for a character, Maiden China; protector of the new Socialist free marketplace...

Well there is DCUO :O.

I saw Elite and Flashpoint and both were great - still have to see Unbound.

Weirdly, there is no Invulnerability set in DCUO, and Super Strength only improves lifting and throwing objects.  The only "Tank" sets are Fire, Ice, and Stone.  (From what I can make out on the DCUO Wikia page, Earth has straight damage resistance, Ice increases the character's armor whenever he attacks, and Fire does the same for HP)

So if you want a super-strong invulnerable guy, you can't play it on the game run by the company with the most well-known (and many of the original) super-strong invulnerable guys in comics.

(As for the original question - just about EVERYTHING reminds me of CoH, especially movies, TV shows, and other games.  I keep thinking I could make their main characters even better in the CoH character creator...)

I was in Tesco and noticed the strength of their cheeses seems to be colour coded using the CoH level-conning colour scheme... 

Maybe someone at Tesco HQ was a diehard CoH player

See I thought for sure that was a picture of adult diapers. I mean, at a glance it looked like the kind of discreet packaging they might come in. ....And of course my poor brain was overheating trying to figure out what -1 and +3 meant

I swear though, I saw "Mild" and "Medium" and my brain jumped to "absorbency level". Then I saw "Mature" and I thought "a polite term for seniors, who might need stronger coverage. Makes sense." And even mixing the labels like that, my brain still didn't find a problem with it.

Then my eye caught "Extra Mature," and I was like "Wait, what?? How old do you have to be to be called 'Extra Mature' in Political Correct Speak?!?"

Ok, this might be weird but we are implementing a new software at work and I enter the bills.  Sometimes on the description, it says "Consultant".  Every time I type that, I think of my friend on Justice whose name is Consultant.  And I immediately miss him and all my friends there.

There ain't nothing weird about this, but Triplash and Scalebeast (aka @Heroette) always remind me of CoH.  HI GUYS!!!!!!

Yes, I am missing game tonight as dinner cooks, missing the community/communities on Justice, Victory, etc. and the friendships made there.  Glad we have Titan Network forums and soon (from my perspective) City of Titans, where I am looking forward not just to the game but to having the entire community able to team up once more MMORPG-style.
