I apologize if this information has already been posted, or if I've posted it in the wrong section. (Wasn't there a thread somewhere where people were keeping track of the Paragon dev's employment status?)

Anyway... so a few days ago, during a podcast interview, one of the Star Trek Online dev team said "You have Matt Miller to thank for the new KDF storyline." (not a direct quote - I don't remember exactly how it was phrased) I figured that meant that he was working for Cryptic again, but I've learned not to assume anything. Perhaps he wrote the story for Cryptic freelance or something, I didn't know.

But now the last Dev Blog (blogs written by the STO developers, in case it wasn't obvious) was signed "Matt Miller - Content Designer - Star Trek Online." So I think it's safe to say that he's working for Cryptic Studios again.

Legacy of Romulus Dev Blog #20 by Matt Miller

I've been playing the new KDF tutorial and story missions on the STO test server, and they're damn good missions! With some of the best stories in the game to date. But would we really expect anything less from Positron?

In any case, STO's 'Legacy of Romulus' expansion goes to the live servers on Tuesday, May 21st. If you're interested I'd definitely recommend trying STO, after LOR goes live.

There is a topic about it already, yeah: http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,8433

Sounds like he's a contractor doing work-for-hire, rather than an employee.

He gets to pick his payment currency that way. *Rimshot*

Which in this case could be an evaluation of how he'd work out with the current staff at Cryptic.  And that evaluation could be coming from both sides of this arrangement.
