By the will of The Dragon

I had been feeling the itch to create some new demo file, but couldn't find the right inspiration.  A casual comment to a friend, led to a discussion about creating scenes of my main set of themed characters, The Loyal Guardsmen in a running battle with their enemy, The Dragon and The Fallen Guardsmen in pursuit.  This further led to the idea The Dragon needed to elevate her game in terms of threat level.  She needed to be a credible threat.

The answer was pretty clear.  She needed an army.

My friend and I tossed around ideas of what this army would look like, how it would be put together, etc.  We did some uniform designing in Icon and I started to build the demo file there.  With demo files, I could do something that I could not do "in game".   I could build a full army and present The Dragon in a way that I always envisioned her in my imagination.

What follows is result of our work.

The first image is The Dragon Guard.  A brilliant idea from my friend.  They are The Dragon's royal guard fashioned in the same manner as the terracotta warriors.  They are mindless, but powerful thralls in the service of The Dragon.

This was a fun demo file to build.  A lot of math and copy & paste involved.  I think it also really puts the engine to the test, with having to render so many characters.  The demo file itself has some basic animation with some FX used.  Here's an idea of what it looks like:
