Powersets you wish they had put in.

After Dual Pistols and Dual Swords I was hoping for Dual Chainsaws but sadly now the time has passed.

After playing the Shield power set in DCUO - I wish we had that type - being able to throw it around. But I believe they didn't so that to avoid any problems from Marvel. (Though the claw set was exactly like Wolverine).

My main tank at the end was a Shield/Elec so I popped for the $10 to buy the power (I play free only) so I could more or less recreate her in DCUO.

The nice thing about freeplay in DCUO is that because I spent at least $5 in the store, I got 6 slots for toons instead of the normal 2 and increased slots for holding salvage, or whatever they call it in there, plus some extra costume slots and whatnot.

So it was a pretty nice deal IMO since 2 slots is already $5.

JaguarX

Chainsaw pets or at least one melee based MM pet set that is living human based besides the usual cliché ninjas. Or street justice based pets.

Achimrst

The only thing I was waiting for in the game was the ability to change the looks of your MM pets!

Cobra Man

I had hoped for a 'Magic' based set for years.

I understand that you can easily say that the fire/ice/earth power sets are magic to incorporate them into a magic origin character (which is good) but I wanted a pure magic set - as per Dr Strange, The Spectre or Dr Fate etc.

Electric-Knight

Not to rub salt into any wounds, but just for the record: With the Post Apocalyptic set, you would have been able to use two chainsaws with the Dual Blades powerset.

Nightmarer

Ball and chain, now that would have been awesome. As for defensive melee sets, none needed, we already had Dark Armor :)

Cinnder

Thunder Glove

I would have liked to see more wind-based powers.  I know Wind Control was being worked on, and there were murmurs of a Wind Blast set on the distant horizon, but I would have liked to see something like Wind Armor or Wind Melee (maybe Wind Blade) as well.

And I would have loved more Mastermind Primaries.  Doesn't even matter to me exactly what, I just wanted more types of pets to command.

You can view the chainsaws too, using Titan ICON, I believe.

Granted we sort of got it in the form of energy, but I always wanted something more-light specific. The antitheses of 'dark' powers, if you will. Sort of like the beam rifle, but as a superpower instead of tech, with some blinding effects tossed in.

Oh, and more gun options besides pistols. CoH could've done with a "heavy weapon specialist." The Assault Rifle set we currently have just doesn't fit that in my mind. It always seemed very silly, and a relic of the days when the devs seemed to be trying too hard to steer clear of certain types of violence.

Blondeshell

Carp Melee.

Had the Post Apocalyptic set gone live, you could've used the Pruner weapon customization.

I wonder if those chainsaws would've come with the proper sound effect?
Yeah, proper. Not asthmatic blender sound effect.

As far as I know and recall, they were not able to put sound effects into them. The blades did animate, but I don't think they were able to tie sounds to the custom weapons.

General Idiot

I always wanted a Shotgun set, personally. But whenever it got suggested on the forums people said it was too close to Assault Rifle. Yet we had no fewer than three sword sets, four if you count titan weapons.

Yeah. I wished to see that power too. It could be what broadsword is to katana

SeaLily

Self-Duplication set for Masterminds.

My long-standing wants were Staff Melee(with a Trident option) and Water Blast, and though it took them quite a while to do it, they got both of those into the game eventually.  And you can bet your ass I picked them up the day they got added.  Both of those sets were a lot of fun.

But the third I'd wanted was a self-duplication MM set.  It was one of those superpowers you see a lot in comics, which seemed like it would be a lot of fun to play with.  Make your pets copy your appearance but just fight with some simple martial arts/street fighting attacks or guns or whatever.  A Gang War style huge mob of duplicates would have been great, too.  But sadly I don't think the system could handle that kind of custom appearance stuff for MM minions, so it was pretty likely never even on the table as an option for them to add.

The only other set I can think of is Super Strength for Scrappers.  I would have really liked that, but it's not a new set in and of itself.  I just wanted some super strength users who weren't Tanks or Brute, some with lower defense.

Though some sort of Speedster-style Fast Melee set or something would have been great too.

As I was saying before, Assault Rifle was a mess anyhow. I just couldn't get into the powerset. Every time I used it, I felt like Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop 3.

After getting dual pistols, which was much more focused on the type of gun that was being used (rather than a gadget gun that has 10 different functions), a real machine gun power and something like a shotgun should've been a nobrainer.

Gosh, now I'm just itching at the idea of making a stereotypical redneck hero armed with a blunderbuss.
