With this group, based purely on the builds listed in the beginning, it doesn't matter who's targeted first. They're all dead in seconds anyway. lol

Indeed so, but if it were to be a specific threat, then you'd have autotargets on that, then general 'next!' after the initial... 5 or so?  Anything that is specifically detrimental to the group, such as the Sappers.  I would, if I were doing the macros, because I'll be damned if any Sapper doesn't drop first... and second... and third, if there's that many. :D

/Same thing with those freakin' Engineers with the turrets of annoyance and Rikti Comm Officers.  Must.  Die.  First.
//After the Sappers.

Sappers weren't really a threat, due to high defense nullifying their only attack. Even if it did it hit wasn't much of a concern due to the myriad of ways to regain endurance. In the rare case it was a problem, mash F5 to have everybody pop a blue insp.

So if I was fighting Malta, Sappers weren't even on the radar - it was the Zeus Titans and Gunslinger bosses I was focused on, but even they weren't that bad. The biggest challenges were Rularuu Overseers, as well as Nemesis - ranged enemies who prefer to stay at range, strong AoE attacks, and Vengeance.

And oddly enough, Knives of Artemis. Which is ironic because I mostly play ranged and consider them one of the easiest and most harmless groups in the game. But while caltrops normally aren't an issue for me, it seems they cause the Robots' AI to short circuit and send them running down the hall to aggro 3 or 4 extra groups, even in "passive" mode...

But they're still level 1 at this point in the story. :)

My setup isn't as fancy as CodeW's.  I used 1 PC and 2 laptops.  The PC ran 2 instances.
Team Railgun:
- Ace Railgun - elec/shield brute
- Mistress Nightsky - kin/dark troller
- furball - beast/ff MM
- Pitfall - demons/traps MM

LRSF team: (beta server)

I lost the quadbox TF complete pic for the ITF team.  The powersets in this team aren't really important for ITF.  An incarnate can solo ITF.  I just wanted to play them together.
- Fate Tharoun - TW/elec brute
- Arf - kin/fire troller
- Takami Chinanoha - elec/rad def
- Hayate Yagami - fire/dark blaster

Sometimes, I join ITFs with 2 characters.  On Virtue, I joined one with a kin and a brute.  On the 2nd mission, I figure the team is strong nuff to have Rom at the PC, so on my brute I say, 'pulling Rom' and went and taunted Rom &  Req while my kin auto-attacked the PC.  Then I see the leader type, 'ok, everyone on the pc and then we pull Rom.'  At that point, Rom/Req were already jumping down.  One of the lowbies starts cursing and demanding who pulled Rom, so I fess up and say I'll keep him taunted.  At the end of ITF, leader praises my kin and adds me as friend.  The brute is snubbed.
