I have heard plenty of this, mainly about the end game raiding on a PvP game... but can you expand on what exactly was so bad about Trials of Atlantis?

1.  The decision to make one common new continent (Atlantis) for all realms, instead of zones unique to each side's culture.
Totally ruined the uniqueness of each side's armor, weapons, etc.
2.  Whatever made them decide that leveling a weapon was a good idea? Major /facepalm.
3.  Chained raid instances - made it very difficult to join in dungeon raids if you hadnt already done the prereqs.  Made it very hard getting enough people to participate & very hard to get your alts through them.
4.  They fell into the trap of the "arms race" that most MMORPGs fall into.   You have to keep getting better and better items to
stay competitive.  Also made my favorite dungeons ghost towns.
5.  Enhanced weapon/armor degradation.
6.  Integrated unique features of some Midgard zones into the new Atlantis continent.

Combine this with:
1.  Continued realm population imbalances - which the devs refused to address.  Made RVR a joke when the enemy
outnumbered you 3 to 1.
2.  Blatant Dev favoritism to Albion.
3.  Nerfs to classes that didnt need it, and classes that needed help were ignored.

I finally gave up.
