No, I'm a CIO of another company (We just brought in another officer we felt more suited to the COO role). But thanks.
excuse the fuzzy memory. You're still an officer though, that's what I meant to say.
Yeeessss....

A) I want the COH "community server" functional so I can play COH as I know it.

That one wouldn't really be something that somebody high profile could help with, as that project, if it exists, would necessarily be underground.

Quote
(A) have the ability to self host so that no matter what happens I can still play it as a single player game even if everyone else gives it up.

It's on the list. It may not be the first thing completed, but it's on the list.

This pretty well sums up my opinions, too...

Can I vote for more than one?

A) I want the COH "community server" functional so I can play COH as I know it.

and

B) I want to see the Phoenix Project take all the best idea from classic COH and bring them forward into a new era with an aesthetic and game play I can come to love.

Give me (A) first so it can hold me over till (B) gets out of the gate! Also make (A) have the ability to self host so that no matter what happens I can still play it as a single player game even if everyone else gives it up.

As far as sustainability, I have to vote for Project Phoenix. H&V has promise and is exciting in its premise, but the team behind Phoenix just has a more polish and professionalism. Like someone else said, they "feel" more like a studio. As much as I like the "rough and tumble" entrepreneurialism of GG's project, Phoenix is more likely to appeal to investment. Trouble is, that might undermine its open source goals.

Fansy is always a little hard to parse, but, if he's back, it can't be a bad thing...
I wouldn't use the word "replace," but there's no word for "take over for you and make everything better almost immediately," so we just say "replace."

Come over to the Missing Worlds Media forums and discuss the open source issues. It's been on my mind as well.

Hail Bard!

Team Wildcard (myself, Rae--a UK journalist, Quinch--a senior IT tech, and Ammon--Ammon Johns, an internationally renowned internet marketing specialist) are concentrating on TF Hail Mary, an attempt to find a buyer for CoH that will reassemble a studio and reboot the original CoH.  Right now we are waiting to see if there are any results from our campaign to persuade Disney--which we know is an exceedingly long shot, but we also know Disney has the means to turn CoH from "100,000" players to a couple million with very little effort on their part, so it was worth trying for them first.  As soon as my contact at Google Ventures gets back to me, we will know if there is any chance at Google.  Darren New is quite high up on the food chain there, and is well connected all through the Google offices.   That is where we stand.

As for the Heroes and Villains and Phoenix Project, I don't really know anything about them but their names and who is more or less in charge of each.  I'm not at all involved with either of them.
I will go down with this ship.  I won't put my hands up in surrender.  There will be no white flag above my door.  I'm in love, and always will be.  Dido

Obviously we would all want CoH back. Thats a given and I hope that does happen.

Looking at what I have seen so far from the two projects, I am 100% behind the Phoenix Project. I have read through their documents and was very impressed that so much was done over a short period of time. They definitely seem more professional and I am far more excited about their project. They are also currently getting a lot of media attention as well. I will be going with TPP.

Ditto.  I'm especially interested in (A) for the same reason Kyriani states.  Even if CoH is rebooted and developed again, sooner or later, folks will drift away.  I'll keep going back, if only to stand under the statue of Atlas and listen to the ambient sounds of the city.  (Shrugs)  It's home.
