Kuriositys Kat

For my main Kuriosity's Kat   (spines/regen) there was this running in the back of  my mind  "The Cat Came Back" - The Muppet Show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Kj1Fsf9a2U
but for some bizzare reason "The Knights of Cydonia" - Muse  became her battle theme.
For  Izanami's Neko  my Fire/Fire Tank there was "Burn" by Deep Purple  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCnebZnysmI

For all the others they never really had concrete themes but  the rotation mix was heavy with Deep Purple, Visqueen, Queensryche, Led Zepplin and Ennio Marricone. Sometimes  Mancini and Mozart joined it.  Mostly it was let the random shuffle play which could be bit of  a startle when Lady Day would start singing in the midst of combat.
"There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, and the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream; people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea's getting cold. Come on, Ace. We've got work to do!" - The Doctor

Roughtrade

Storm the master-marathon i'll fly through, by flash and thunder-fire i'll survive!  Then i'll defy the laws of nature and come out alive!
~ Queen "Seven Seas of Rhye"

We learned to run at speed of light, and to fall down from any height
~ Aqua "Cartoon Heroes"

Both for just about everyone.  That and several instrumental pieces.   Things like "Control" from Juno Reactor.

The only individual character who ever really had a connection to a single song was Witchcraft.  "Season of the Witch"  by Donavon.

Minotaur

I named a number of my toons after songs.

Black Hole Sun (Soundgarden)
Suspect device (Stiff little fingers)
Strange little girl (Stranglers)
Psychosis safari (80s matchbox B-line disaster)
Sixteen tons (Tennessee Ernie Ford)
Give my love to rose (Johnny Cash)

and pastiches

Spycho killer
Tweenage rampage
Stupyd Cupyd

Along with 2 toons, Baron von Tollbooth, Chrome Nun from an album by various members of Jefferson Airplane plus Jerry Garcia and others.

I tended to be singing along at least mentally when AE fire farming to the Bloodhound Gang -  Fire water burn although that was bad as I'd occasionally sing it in the street and "Burn MFr burn" gets you some funny looks.

Tacitala

I only ended up with set 'theme songs' for two of my characters, and neither of them were my main.  And both are odd, hard to explain stories as how they got that way (less so on the second one).  I didn't notice at first they're my two imports from other time frames...

First: Alditha- titan weapon/willpower brute with a back story that had her as a barbarian being dumped in this time after being volunteered to touch an Ouroboros portal.
https://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu85/Tacitala/alditha.jpg
Who ended up with Van Canto's cover of Kings of Metal. Yes, the explosions and head banging monks were in the mental mix up as well.

Second: Heal Bunny- empathy/archery defender with a back story of her being a rabbit shaman accidentally summoned at Midnighters' bachelor party gone awry (wrong type of bunny...).
https://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu85/Tacitala/healbunny.jpg
Who ended up with Pinkie Pie's Smile song as hers.

As a note, the Smile song was what cued up as I was going in to my final fight against Mot. Despair? Pft. Screw you, I have ponies.
"And I, of course, am innocent of all but malice."
- Princess Fiona of Amber

Heraclea

For Heraclea:  The Might of Rome from Gladiator .

Respighi's Pines of the Appian Way probably would work for all the characters from New Colchis

(Heraclea!!!!!!!)

For Healix: Here I am - Leona Lewis   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AtjWBwFfGE

A Cyclops named Steve

Steropes theme song was "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC and my partner in crime Athene Parthenos' theme was "This is War" by 30 seconds to Mars
.                              Come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination. Take a look and you'll see into your imagination.

We'll begin with a spin, traveling in the world of my creation. What we'll see will defy explanation.

If you want to view paradise simply look around and view it. Anything you want to, do it. Wanta change the world? There's nothing To it.

Pengie's theme is...what else......"The Bird" by The trashmen

A-well-a, everybody's heard about the bird
Bird, bird, bird, b-bird's the word
A-well-a, bird, bird, bird, the bird is the word

pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-ooma-mow-mow

Wow!  I feel so non-heroic and mundane -- or should that just be "lame" in that I never came up with specific theme music for my characters (only for myself) and let the game music inspire me when and where it did - or else I'd boot up my own tunes prior to playing toons.   ;)   /em holdtorch

While I haven't tried it, I 've heard that rattlesnake tastes like chicken.  I once ate frog's legs, like at an actual sit down restaurant, and since I was 12 (imagine Calvin from "Calvin and Hobbs" at 12) I just simply had to try that never having seen that on any menu before, and purportedly the frog legs also tasted like chicken, tho strangely, even IF they were "chicken-like" in flavor, I dunno why they didn't taste like any actual chicken I'd eaten before.  [insert here that line from "The Matrix" about "everything (without a distinctive flavor) tasting like chicken"]  So, yeah, there's absolutely no reason why tube steaks shouldn't also taste like chicken, unless they're like all-beef Franks or something.   ;)

Bronies eat Pinky Pies? Is that literal or metaphorical?  8)
I am way late coming to the Bronie table since I managed to become one without ever having seen even one episode of My Little Pony just the cartoons that got posted here and on the former COH official forums; however, I am gonna hope it means metaphorical internalizing of principle rather than animated pixel-horse flesh eating, since the later is, like, ewww!

BTW, thanks for your signature line, Tim.  I found myself watching http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC3tseY-ic0 and getting caught up in hearing our saga once more. 8)  Man, not only do i want to log in and play, I find I am already up for yet another ROCKIN' 0 XP Weekend!!!  And we just had one, so probably I'll have to wait at least another month.

Also, I doubt this is the right place for this but I recently read these words and they resonated with me "If there is injustice, then I think inaction is the wrong response.  The Buddhist texts mention what is called 'misplaced tolerance' or 'misplaced forbearance'.  ...misplaced patience or forbearance refers to the sense of endurance that some individuals have when they are subject to a very destructive,  negative activity."  --The Dalai Lama (pg. 19, The Art of Happiness at Work.  Naturally, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was not writing about City of Heroes; however,  he does write about the need/obligation to resist and oppose exploitation and injustice.

Paragon Avenger

I used Songify to create a song for my Willpower /fire tank.  His name is Super Fire Dragon.  He is a short yellow golden dragon who never took the game or himself to seriously.  So the song goes like this:
Super
Fire
Super
Fire
Dragon
Dragon.

It fits.

Thirty-Seven

Maybe this is a stupid question... But how exactly do you figure out a character's "theme song"?  I've never even sort of thought about this before right now.

Paragon Avenger

It has to do with roleplaying.
And what you think about, besides leveling, while you run that character.
But remember, not all toons have theme songs.

Maybe this is a stupid question... But how exactly do you figure out a character's "theme song"?  I've never even sort of thought about this before right now.

First you figure out their personality. Then, what genre does their appearance reflect? Choose some music that fits the 'mood' you want to convey.

For example...

At one time, I roleplayed a character with a goth look, sort of like Kate Beckinsdale in Underworld.

https://images.weserv.nl/?url=www.mobileapples.com%2FAssets%2FContent%2FWallpapers%2Fselene-underworld.jpg

The character wasn't a vampire, but she was nevertheless a street-fighting badass who dealt with paranormal freaks on a regular basis. So, I chose something to reflect that.

Enter Resident Evil. "Tokyo" by Tomandandy - the Resident Evil: Afterlife intro theme.

"Frank! It's the love boat to Cuba! Shuffle board and pineapples filled with rum. Know what they do? They put little paper umbrellas sticking out the top so that when it rains, it don't thin out the liquor."
