NaNoWriMo, CoH-Style
« on: September 26, 2012, 03:17:15 PM »
As some of you more literary talents are, I'm sure, aware, National Novel Writing Month is just over a month away.

Anyone think we could find a good way to incorporate that into the #SaveCOH campaign?

I was planning on writing my main character's epilogue for December 1. I could probably push that up. Let me see what I can wring out of my schedule.

I was also planning a montage for my other characters, but that's coming along much more slowly.

While I could write the Rikti War bit, I think a better idea would be to actually write out a characters story. The Gregor brothers story would be the most compelling I'd think.

Currently suffering a severe case of writer's block... partially due to the impending DOOM of CoH.  If I can get past it I might give it a shot but don't count on it.

Hmm.  you know, a friend of mine showed me the 'tron' room a week or so ago and it got all of us thinking.

One of those was a fiction pieced in which the various memebers of our supergroups were holding back something like the Langoliers from the steven king novel of the same name while we evac'd people through that unique portal.

Interesting.  I have a long-idle blog for some characters of mine, and was considering writing up their end of the world.  But it was too depressing so I won't be.

Interesting I've always wanted to try my hand at NaNoWriMo...sheesh the whole save COH thing does seem to be leading into a lot of firsts...the only problem is time...I already have a finger in so MANY places.  Maybe a group effort?

I actually began writing Book III of COURSE OF SUPERHERO ROMANCE as part of last year's NaNoWriMo (right until I got swamped with job stuff, as per usual for November). Got like 15k words done, plus another like 5k on Book 2.

Well, I did it. I won NaNoWriMo with a story that takes place in City of Heroes. Read it (as it was last night / early this morning, spelling errors and all) here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bLFtL71hT-B8BppayW5coPVL_pL3P2qp6_VUqFB8pTA/edit

Edit: I don't think I did very much to help CoH publicity, since I didn't post much in the forums over there, or do much of anything other than write it, but there it is.

I used CIT before they even joined the Titan network! But then I left for a long ol' time, and came back. Now I edit the wiki.

Now that my time isn't being taken up writing quite as much, I'm posting in the forums over there a bit more, with a link in my sig to Save CoH. Hopefully that will get a few people curious enough to find out more.
