Standing on the shoulders of giants?
« on: October 31, 2012, 02:15:14 PM »
I stumbled across this story today:

http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-10-25/the-plot-to-destroy-americas-beer

for the TL:DR crowd, AB InBev is a HUGE beer maker worldwide.  They've bought up all kinds of brands, Bud, Becks, etc.  The CEO is a champion costcutter, but in doing so to the beers, he's losing drinkers.  He's fundamentally chaning what people LIKE about beer in order to cut costs.

The story starts out with people protesting the changes to their beer.  In some cases, Hoegaarden for example, the protestors have managed to undo the changes.

Can we learn anything from this?  Can we look to other outcries from communities, especially for Korean ones, where the rallies have been successful in changing minds?

Beware the mighty faceplant!
