While not directly CoH-related;

NCsoft set to crush Blizzard - with Bits and Tits.
Who do they think they're fooling? I've added my 150 characters to the comments, bringing up Tabula Rasa, but I'd suggest everyone adding their own two cents as well.

Edit: Aaannnnd that's an article from June. Nevermind!

Meh. Maybe the sales in Asia will be enough to contend with Diablo, but I don't see them suggesting that it's a WoW-killer.
I wouldn't use the word "replace," but there's no word for "take over for you and make everything better almost immediately," so we just say "replace."

You know, given that it is the Korean Times...and they do not much seem to like NCSoft...could this be a case of running the press release and then sitting back and waiting for the inevitable crash?
I will go down with this ship.  I won't put my hands up in surrender.  There will be no white flag above my door.  I'm in love, and always will be.  Dido

Err, I should point out the date on that article (unless I'm mistaken it dates back to 06/18).
And yes, for a while it surpassed Diablo 3 back in Korea IIRC.

Oh, for the luvva... that's what I get for not checking.

Don't feel bad. I usually check dates, too, but I missed it on this one.

A mention for us, and something NC Soft should read.

I was very impressed by this Professor's insight from that article:

When a game shuts down, it can be an emotional blow to players. Dr. Henry Lowood, Curator of History of Science and Technology Collections for Stanford University Libraries, says, "When you have memories, a sense of space, you always have a sense of having been somewhere. You end up with associations with that world. Even though you know they're not real, the associations are real. When those are disrupted—especially in a way that would be catastrophic, when it goes dark—it's like a tidal wave or an earthquake wiping out a town. It's not exactly the same, but emotionally and in terms of memories, it's very similar."

"But honey it's just a game."  Yeah right.

A little blurb about the closing of Paragon Studios. I've already informed him of what (so far as we know) happened to the gang, since he mentioned he had no clue what actually happened to the employees of Paragon.

As in deliberately choosing all the right words for the wrong reasons?

Classic propaganda/psychological warfare tactic, if so.
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction.

I think I've got to thank YouTube.

I came across this video - and as far as I know, it's the first player created video. Makes me a mite nostalgic.
