I wouldn't use the word "replace," but there's no word for "take over for you and make everything better almost immediately," so we just say "replace."

Mild-Mannered Reporter is searching for purpose, too.

http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/12/05/a-mild-mannered-reporter-moving-forward-after-city-of-heroes/

Yeah I am also thinking of moving to champions for a while. Especially after reading the article they wrote about cox.
But  I am still not giving up at all. Not by a long shot. I think I may have started to run out of ideas. Only thing I can think of is see if I can contact DCU and see what they think about Cox shutting down and maybe convince them if they could post news about their feelings towards that flagship of super hero titles going down.

Other than that I contacted so many as you guys had read. From NY Times to Local News paper and t.v channel and every relevant game magazine like GI.
All I can do is hope they contact me back sometime and wait for the Disney call back.

Copying the comments over (using translator )

habs never played, but the well is not yet properly pulped

ve Played it for a while and was pretty impressed.
Therefore, it would be a shame if it is scrapped completely and easily forgotten forever. Better to sell it and make a decent f2p game.

This is not the game that's always in advertising? . I've personally never played , if it's such a "Pay2win" game, then gladly send it. edit: Sorry, I was confused, my comment was referring to DC Universe. The "Superman" has irritated me.

I think Miss Lackey has to say everything that needed to be said.

NCSoft halt. After Auto Assault and Tabula Rasa now City of Heroes. Sad.

I do not understand why the games are closed, can not make open source.
The fans could host their own servers. I made my the company yes then anyway with nothing more, so .....

Plays the ever else? When was the last time I looked about 2 years ago purely very little going on, they met little people. Makes me wonder, therefore, that the game does not yet

Exteel and not to forget.
Best game ever.

On that occasion, they could sell the rights of Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault. For it would be interested to know other publishers

In the article, there is also the NC-Soft with the game one million doller 2.76 profit in the quarter and has made this strategic decision is thus difficult to understand. Here, the game seems more like in the shadows in the U.S. but it was far more popular and better known. then they shall sell the rights but at least continue when it no longer fits into their concept. The way how this was handled by NC Soft is to understand at least not completely, and has helped to improve not just their reputation anyway was not always the best.

The last comment was from me. The game didn't have much attention here, there was an german server "Zukunft", but this one was always very, very empty and so most people are wondering here that the game was runing 8 years. So someone must told them that other servers got much more people and the game was making profit...

OH MY GOD... They used Cyberman 8's final salute screenshot!!!!

Edit: Huh - I think the pic they used of the blank screen with the forcibly disconnected message might be mine too.

And I've left a somewhat lengthy comment on that news story thanking them and re-iterating some of my points from earlier posts.

There's a CoH closure thread on the WoW forums, and unbelievably, it's a pretty positive one.

The opening poster's comment:

...an MMO shutting down puts the player in the unusual situation of attending his own funeral; you play the role of the deceased and the survivor, and it's a sort of double-whammy when you know both what you've lost and what can never be revisited again.

That just... wow... That's spot on.

It's on the Wyrmrest Accord server forums, since it's one of the RP servers that probably explains the positive part.  ;D
