There used to be a way to set your time zone on these forums to change the displayed post times, and obeyed daylight saving time/standard time switches. I can't find it anymore. All I can find is to offset your time vs UTC. Halp!

I searched around and couldn't find anything like this, neither on the user side nor on the admin side. My best guess is that the feature was part of SMF1 and was dropped for SMF2.

There seems to be something similar under 'Modify Profile' then 'Look and Layout'

There is only UTC offset. It doesn't take DST into account, which is my issue. I have to [remember to] update my offset to reflect that, and I am lazy forgetful.

More like the world just needs to bite it and go UTC globally speaking while simlutaneously eliminating the whole DST thing.

Maybe not UTC globally, but yes PLEASE ditch DST.
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand basket?

Ahh, Paragonwiki can display the correct local time (with and without DST):

From paragonwiki.com:
- Open My Preferneces
- then open Date and Time
Then set the Timezone to Fill in from browser.

This works for me. Simple one-click twice a year each time I notice my posting times are one hour off. (i.e. good enough for me, so I can be mostly lazy forgetful :> )
