Unable to read Data -Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow

Title says it all  

Many of my builds no longer can be read with the new updated mids

I tried also opening the build in note pad and copying out the data chunk but getting same issues.

How old are the builds you're trying to import to the new Mids?

I know the data chunk stuff has changed up a few times over the years, but it's been a while since anything changed in there.

If the builds are old enough, they just might not be compatible with the new version.

If you upload one of your builds, we can probably figure out what the problem is even more quickly.

The only builds I had this problem with were ones that had Dual Pistols, which I imagine is because of the change to how Mids is handling Swap Ammo. But since I'd only made a couple Dual Pistols builds a day or two before the update, I just remade them. Haven't had any more problems.

I downloaded tried opening a Dual Pistol build created March 6 (using the I16 planner) and got an error, but not that one.

Decided to see what happens with the rest of my build files if I tried opening them.

92 build files (not counting the Dual Pistols build I already tried) dating back as far as May 10, 2007 (Issue 9), and the only three that failed to open were three Arachnos Soldier builds created using the Issue 12 Beta planner. 

(The I12 Beta planner wasn't an official release and was incompatible with the eventual official I12 planner release.)

Those three builds that failed opened just fine in the I12 beta planner.

So my Dual Pistols/Mental Manipulation Blaster is the only file I have that doesn't open correctly in the I18 Mids release.

Same issue here. 125 build saves, and the only ones that don't load (and return the error you're getting) are my Dual Pistols builds.

The patch notes said

Removed the powers obtained by Dual Pistols > Swap Ammo from displaying in the inherent powers section.  These powers will no longer display anywhere in Mids' (see "Known Issues for reasoning behind removing these powers"

My money is that that change is the cause of the error and that there is no workaround for it since the place the powers used to display no longer exists.

At least you can re-enter your build.  I never printed mine.

Open your save file in a simple text editor. It should be plaintext of the build.
