Dabbling with CO and LOTRO.

Mainly playing single player games and PBEM wargames.

Catharctic

Hahahaha! Someone put that in the thread on the official boards.

The Disclaimers on these videos are half the hilarity of them.

Voltaic Shock

The last line is funny but wrong.  He says they don't pay him jack squat, then what is all the inf he gets for - :P

Takes it off their bodies.  What?  The PPD were just gonna put the guy's wallet in inventory anyway ...

These are great, but I think the coolest thing about them is that they are player-made.

Where did you see this?  I think they were made by NCSoft NorCal

From this thread:

QuoteOk, I gotta ask. Who does the voices on these? More so, who's doing them?

Are these a Dev thing? Or is it some awesome player?

It's a player - Stone Falcon has done all three of these.

And to answer someone else's question - the voice of the 'hero' is the same guy who voiced Captain Omegabot in Stone Falcon's video "The Revenge of Dr. Mechanico."  No idea who voices the villain.

As for how the video was made - Leandro's Splasher program to make the background white, demoediting to make the characters move, and I gather frame-by-frame animation to animate the mouths and eyes.

How do I know all this?  Stone Falcon emailed me. :)

Actually, I think she said it in all the threads about the Mac videos, but that was the easiest one to find at the moment.

SuckerPunch

Hmm, don't know how I missed it then.

Catharctic

Meh, it's easy to get lost in all the fanboy posts and me saying PUT IT ON TV!

Holy Hell, why would you keyframe mouth and hand movements! That takes DAYS on a 5 min animation... I know I do it with some flash cartoons I've made.

That moronic...

NOT TO MENTION, you can do a lot more with the demo editing that that, hell... change the map to the Shard and move your characters to -20000, nice background... and if you do it in a base and just delete out all the objects, you can have a pure back background you can negative to white.

That's how us low-budget editors to it up... that dude is a subsidiary of a video production firm, lol.

You don't get any badges do you for getting the Mac edition?

Catharctic

Correct.

No badges for the Mac Edition.

LexieKay

So if I were to buy the Mac edition for the PC I would only get the extra costume pieces and the mission teleporter?

Someone mentioned you could buy a pack that comes with the extras without having to buy the Mac edition in a couple of months. But I haven't really looked into it, just passing along the info. I'm waiting for that. ;)

Edit: Found the link to the forum post that mentions the stand alone purchase for the extras here.

Here's the deal:

The "full" Mac Edition is $19.99, comes with the Valkyrie pack and the Mission teleporter, and one full month's of service.

In 2 months, the Mac "Goodies" pack will be released, will be $9.99, and only comes with the Valk pack and Mission Teleporter.

If you do the math, the free month of the current "full" Mac Edition takes the "net" cost down to $5.  That's a pretty good deal.   ($20 - $15 free month = $5)

LexieKay

Ooooooo, that's a must! Thanks for the info!  :D
