Hello, folks.

Well I already have built a Spines/Fiery Aura scrapper to zone pvp, but I was wondering if his build would be okay or not to pvp. (I neither have gotton all the accolades yet nor gotten all the IO's I need yet and that is why I don't use this character too much to PvP.)

To let you know, I'm one of those who think that the build wouldn't matter unless it is very awkwardly built, if the person who plays knows how to pvp, but still, I wanted some modifications on my character.

I already have the most of the purple IO's and unique IOs, such as Numina, Miracle uniques, or LoTG +7.5% on this build, so how much will this build cost will never be much of a problem of mine.

I love to PvP, especially in zones. (Eh.. actually ONLY in zones, since I don't pvp in arena. I disliked the concept of picking the enemy for arena pvp and that is why I don't do arena.)

No matter I'm teammed up or solo, though I am not one of those greatest PvPers, I think I'm okay at least.

Here goes my build.

With Blazing Aura toggled on and constant use of Burn, I normally don't get AS'ed. (Well even though there are some clever stalkers teleporting right next to me with hover or fly toggled on and AS me, but that's very rare case. I was one of those stalkers but I see not too many people doing that even in those group of Korean PvP maniacs.)

Thus, please don't say "You will get two-shotted by any stalkers." They normally can't AS me even when I stay at a spot.

Plus, since I'm one of those who always get accolades beforehand, I don't suffer too much from max HP being too low. (Not saying that my character has high max HP, but I'm saying that I don't suffer the problem as much as others without +max HP accolades.)

I know there would be many different possibilities and cases, such as using inspirations or getting buffs, I just wanted to know if this build would be great for 1v1 pvp or not, in general.

I'm pretty damn sure that Fire Blast/ blasters won't get me. I already have matched with several peoples. (So, please don't say "You will get two-shotted by any Fire Blasters." My character is cap-resisted to Fire damage.)

My losing matches were pretty rare comparing to the total number of matches I've done to test out my build.

Mostly Fire Blast/Energy Manipulation. I don't usually get near the blaster in general, so being hit with Total Focus was very rare.

If I make mistake, and if that connects to my being hit with TF and BS at the same time, even with cap-resist fire damage, since I still would get 25% of what I was supposed to get if I don't have any resist, I lose the match.

There is one match that I've lost while 1v1'ing with non-Fire Blast/Energy Manipulation. He, the guy I was matching with, was using Fire Blast/Ice Manipulation. I matched with him a few more times, but it was only once that I've been defeated.

I didn't know what was his strategy, but if his combo gets me, (well not only me, but every melee characters) it isn't that weird to die.

I get slowed as hell by Shiver, Ice Patch, Chilblain, and Rain of Fire. Until that point, I've never seen/heard any PvP blaster using Rain of Fire, well but he did.

Anyways, I get slowed as hell, and couldn't do anything but shotting Impale sometimes. (but even using Impale wasn't so easy, b/c I was so -rech'ed by the powers I've mentioned above that slowed my movement.)

Well, as you can assume, I was defeated that time.

The pain was "not predicting when or where he would use the Ice Patch."

After that match, I started to try predicting that, I won the other matches.

(Think he is one of the most well-playing PvPers I know. You should grab your melee character and PvP with him, to see if you can win + have some fun. The other method to win him would be using TP. When you get slowed, you just TP out and come back in to fight. His name is, I don't know if it is all good for me to post his character name here, Checkmate'. He is a nice guy, speaks English pretty well even though he has never been to any of English speaking country; Yup, he is a Korean guy.)

I've heard he respeced out his blaster, but idk how he did it yet, but I heard he took out Ice Patch. Other than that, I've never seen his logging on his blaster yet, so I have no idea.

I haven't done any tests on 1v1'ing against Psychic Blast/ blasters yet; I don't know any PvPers with fully IO'ed out Psychic Blast/ blasters.

My test matches were on WB and Arena on Freedom server. (And I never have PvP'ed those "blah blah I can PvP with my mouth blah blah blah you suck because I can speak better than you blah blah" people on Arena chat because I think the fights against them wouldn't help me at all to improve myself. Or maybe I have fought against ones who come to zones either with my scrappers, stalkers, blasters, brutes, or tankers. <- these are the only AT's I play. I've tried others, meh, they weren't really my types. I still do have a few characters of other AT's, but I don't PvP with those characters; Controllers, Defenders, Dominators, Corruptors, Masterminds, and Epic characters.)

I usually PvP on WB and RV. I go to SC too, but that's not as often as I go to the other two. (BB? I don't count that zone. Or maybe I'm a bit too sucks for planning a build then make a character for BB.)

I think this post went a "bit" longer than I expected before I started to write this, and has gone a bit out of the original point of the topic. I'm sorry for that, and if you can't remember what is the main point of this post, it is to get help on the build.

Thanks for sparing your time, reading my post, and pre-thanks to whoever would enlighten me with their suggestions.

THANK YOU!
Jin.

I can't really critique a PvP build very well, as I'm not a PvPer at all.
But my one observation is that you're taking acrobatics at 24, when you could instead take temperature protection there, and use the extra slot from acro in another of your resistance powers to add a second -KB if you feel you need that much protection (i'm always very reluctant to suggest 2 -KB IOs, as I feel it's greedy when so many people want to get hold of one).

That'd free up a power choice and reduce your end use marginally.

I also changed your post to not display smileys, as they were corrupting the importable data (if you make a post and want smileys, you should export the corruption-resistant chunk)

That's a build more expensive than I could ever dream of putting together! :o

o.O I don't know if I am getting your point correctly, but there already is one KB protection IO, which is a global IO as far as I know, on Temprature Protection power.

Adding with the Acrobatics' KB protection mag, it is 13 mag of KB protection. And that is more than what the usual scrapper would have.

I didn't really see too many of characters with cold damage, so I kind of pushed back the Temperature Protection power.

And since I've slotted three Steadfast Protection IO's, I will still have the set bonuses with that extra 3% defense and 4 KB protection mag even in SC.

Plus, I don't think I am suffering the endurance problem, so... keeping Acrobatics would actually be better imho. (well... I just couldn't love 8 KB protection mag than 13 KB protection mag, but I'll consider getting another KB protection IO to make it 17 :) just to avoid getting KBed by unslotted Power Thrust or any other powers with the same amount of KB mag.)

Thanks for your suggestion! :D

(and thanks for setting "not to display smileys" :D)

P.S: And I know you would get this message from everywhere, but I LOVE YOU FOR YOUR DAMN GREATLY BUILT BUILDER! :D)

I confess, I can't actually recall the top level of SC, so i'm not 100% certain what you'd exemp away. I'm not sure you'll be getting the bonuses from the steadfast set when you're there though.

Only times I can be found in a PvP zone is if a certain TF organiser (he knows who he is) has insisted I show up with Shivans and a full set of Warburg rockets... Which, by the time I have all 3, I have the urge to make him eat. :P

As far as I know, it works if the IO level is 1~33. Even if I'm misinformed with that information on set bonuses, the extra 3% of Defense and 4 KB protection mag will work no matter when it is slotted, b/c they are global IO's. :)

Oh, and you are exemplar'ed to level 30 in SC :)

Hey im also making a spines/fire for pvp.. but instead of taking acro i would get karma and stead fast which you can place in fireshield, plasma and combat jump. this will help with knockbacks and res.. dont take temp protection because youll already cap the def to fire to it.

I'd wait till i13 to start making a serious build, especially if you're going to spend lots of influence on it. The changes may negate a lot of what you're trying to accomplish.
