Superman is so closely related to other heroic archetypes like the Mask, Popeye, Santa Claus and Joey Lawrence as to be practically interchangeable with them. Really this thread is exploring the heroic ideal in the tradition of Carlyle, Frazer, and Campbell as it's expressed in XXXNet's dreams, which any rational being would recognize as essentially freebased collective unconscious.  8)
