Nope. Always been gravity and yellow sun radiation in the comics. Atmosphere just came out of nowhere.

Though in the later books of the 90's and on it was more the yellow sun and not as much gravity.

I just caught a glimpse of this show and there was a guy sitting in a throne fit for Ming the Merciless in a set that looked so much like a TARDIS interior that for a moment I wondered what episode of Doctor Who this was.

Is it me or were there more actual goings on in the finale than the rest of the season combined? Maybe it'll finally get a little traction in s2.

It was the finale. I didn't enjoy this show. I can't believe I've wasted 10 episodes of my time. I'm not watching season 2. I thought they was going to conclude the story and save Superman but, nooooooooooooo. Why the writers have to do this.......

I haven't watched it as I have no interest but is the Superman in this supposed to be the one from the movies, or the one in Supergirl?

Or one we haven't seen yet?

Presumably one we haven't seen yet, though it matches up more to comics versions than to any of the filmed versions so far.
