Hero Forge Minis

I actually saw this on one of the CoH Facebook groups, but I haven't seen it here (I even did a search!). It's a site that got funded via Kickstarter, and the idea is you can custom design a plastic minifigure, and they will 3D print it for you (for a fee). I'm not really in to that many miniature games, but even so, it still seems pretty cool. There's a pretty good amount of customization, and it looks like they're adding more pretty regularly.

Their blog: http://heroforgeminis.blogspot.com/
Their Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HeroForgeMinis
The Kickstarter campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/heroforge/customizable-3d-printed-tabletop-miniatures
Info on the materials (plastics, steel, bronze): https://www.heroforge.com/static/heroforge-care-guide.pdf

The reason I'm putting so much other stuff first is because their main sight opens straight to a full page WebGL 3D interface, for designing your mini. You can save characters, and it's lots of fun, but it's also pretty slow on my computer. So if people have computers that may take issue with something like that, be warned (the page itself is slow for me, doesn't seem to affect performance much in other pages or programs, but better safe (or warned) than sorry): https://www.heroforge.com/

Edit: It's worth noting that their base gender models are remarkably fluid, and can be modified in all the same aspects (bust, curves, booty, among others, are what come to mind as traditionally "female" types of measurements). You can also put every piece of clothing or item or hair detail on all base models, including things like facial hair. Which I think is a nice touch coming from CoH's sometimes gender-limited costumes.

I used CIT before they even joined the Titan network! But then I left for a long ol' time, and came back. Now I edit the wiki.

I'm not sure if this is related (or welcome), but some of the community have 3D printers. If you send me an STL of OBJ file that fits inside an 8-inch cube, I would happily print it for you at cost. Be aware that cost is about $35 per gram. Mini-figures (what's that, 3" tall or so?) would probably only cost a couple dollars.

You might be able to use OGLE (which I am not familiar with) to get files from Paragon Chat or Titan Icon which you can then pull your figures out of. Of course this requires some knowledge of a CAD program, so it is not for novices or those in a hurry.

But please PM me if interested. I have several projects in the works, and 3D printing is SLOW, but I will work in your projects as I can between what I'm doing.

If interested in buying your own printer, I highly recommend the Robo3D R1+, which retails for about $800. Order on Amazon (if you have Prime) in order to avoid shipping charges. I also recommend getting a PRINTinZ "zebra plate" if you don't want to mess with hairspray, glue sticks and all that.

It is worth noting that allowing customers to buy their own 3D files to print themselves (or at a cheaper shop) is on their agenda.

Just for what it's worth, I have received my first mini from Hero Forge, and am pleased. I opted for the cheaper plastic ( 'more durable, less detail'), as it will be used regularly. The turn around time is 4-6 weeks from payment, but it was worth waiting for, in my opinion.

Hey GamesWorkshop, can't you do something like this?

Oh.. you'll personally come to my place and burn down my house if I even try? Ok.. sorry for asking.

I totally mis-quoted, and the price has dropped a tad. It's $25 and per kilogram (not per gram).
