I enjoy moving from place to place as quickly as possible.

Just curious, does anyone know how to display that as a text extract vice the mids input.  I absorb info better from text than a mids screen.

I generally don't put AT enhancements in my builds right now...since not sure how available they will or won't be. As for switching out multistrike for oblit set... that's something i would do after alpha slotted.


And yes... i24 set bonuses, but shouldn't be any defense adjustments. I need to find an i23 Mids... mine is the most recent one with some i24 stuff m

Ok toast, show me some magic on a Sonic/H2O defender.

I would prefer to work rech and ranged D.

I've got one on the defender forums that I've started but not entirely happy with him at the moment. So you can see what I was going for originally.

Also any info you might have on a pet that will close to melee would be much appreciated.

If I were going to make a Sonic/Water Defender... this is what I would do.


You will notice I skipped Sonic Cage (too situational for me) and clarity (Those people needing mez protection are ranged toons who should be sticking by you...melee toons can already mitigate status effects).


Water is a VERY fun set...which makes it tough because...most of the powers are good. I skipped steam spray because 1. It is a cone... boo hiss. 2. It has a long activation time. 3. It's damage is meh. You have plenty of AoE and ST damage imo.


Now... I did not get you to the soft cap on ranged defense, but.... once you have your Barrier power... even at it's weakest... it gives you 5% def to all which takes you to the ranged defense cap.


As far as recharge/perma hasten... I didn't quite get there, but it was a choice of decreasing defense bonuses to increase recharge bonuses...and me personally... I would rather have the defense. Hasten will only be down for 19 seconds.


I chose the Disruptor pet because from my experience it tends to get pretty close to melee.

Ok toast, show me some magic on a Sonic/H2O defender.

I would prefer to work rech and ranged D.

I've got one on the defender forums that I've started but not entirely happy with him at the moment. So you can see what I was going for originally.

Also any info you might have on a pet that will close to melee would be much appreciated.

Hmmm... Not sure how it will do. This is one of those types of builds you would have to play to see if it works the way you think it will. The lack of defense and/or resistance is troubling to me. Power selection wise... I know I would definitely dump force of nature and take conserve power instead. Force of Nature is only up for 2 out of 5 minutes and then has the heal and recovery penalties. I love TA... I know a lot of people don't care for it, but I like the jack of all trades approach.


This is not the build I would personally do, but if it's something you like and can make work for you...then I say go for it :)

I'm going for a TA/H20 over the Sonic/H20 or my other planned TA/Sonic.

I'm thinking it's gonna be a nice farmer type character that will surprise many ppl who I team with.

I've enjoyed TA quite a bit myself. I think the big part of getting that Defense covered is in Flash Arrow. It allows me to get into the mid 30s on ranged D whenever I fire it off. Power boosted it gets me to 40%. So, I wouldn't mind finding about 5% more ranged D.
It also helps I can basically invis. myself with FA and Stealth.

Then there's the holds and stuns and kdowns and other stuff the set can do which should make it a fairly sturdy combo.

I should be able to aoe about 1000 or so damage every 35-40 seconds which is what is really exciting about this combo.   

I only really included the FON as a get out of a jam kinda power.

My other options are the ever popular dark or soul sets which both have strong reasons to choose them.

As far as the build I have... we do have some differences of opinion on builds, but I always appreciate how you go about it. I see the invisible, pseudo controllerish nature of this build being able to keep up with the lack of defense.

Here's hoping that I can test out my theory in the near future.

I have this ElM/EA build in my library. Incarnate softcapped S/L, lots of damage bonuses, good attack chain and water spout to deal damage and -res (can solo pylons fairly quick), spring+rod as AoE burst, perma hasten and energize.

Hey Burnt...noticed some of your builds and thought they were pretty awesome...think you could maybe make me a Fire/Ice blaster with perma-Hasten? have tried myself/had troubles with either really low defense or low recharge

Blasters are one of my least fav ATs. The only blaster I ever liked that I had was a fire/mental. So here is the build I came up with. When it comes to recharge and defense with these powers I had to kind of go for the best I could get with each. I chose Ice Mastery for symmetry purposes.

Hey Burnt...noticed some of your builds and thought they were pretty awesome...think you could maybe make me a Fire/Ice blaster with perma-Hasten? have tried myself/had troubles with either really low defense or low recharge

I personally love elect melee :) So that is what I made this toon.
I did give you flight... but I also gave you super jump (as well as combat jumping... because I wanted Spring Attack)
I also gave you super speed... with a Celerity +stealth IO.. You don't wanna be that tank who cant ghost if ya need to :)


You have soft cap defense against melee which is important :)
