The Darkside of CoH

Personally, I thought CoH's  side stories were a bit dark too.

When I was younger,  I would take "wiki walks" on Paragon Wiki and read about the lore of some enemy/allied groups.

One really dark side story is when I was reading about the history of the Lost. There was some hero girl who helped homeless people and at the end, she was kidnapped and began showing cases of delirium while her partner was straight up missing.

Then there was the mini story of how those arachnos tarantulas came to be. It was just a horrifying thought to see a human body so mutilated to fit into....  A literal spider suit. The psychic Fortunata tarantulas were even worse in my opinion because you could see their body in the suit and even their eyes are mutilated.

I was also an avid reader on mission descriptions/stories. Many times when I read up a random paper mission there were inclusions of satanic worship (hellions), gruesome murder or just other sinister works.

The "main story" really didn't interest me much because I always loved background roles. They seem to have a certain air of mystery in them

It evoked an emotional response from you, because of how twisted these things were. It did exactly what it was meant to.
