Title: Avengers Assemble cartoon series...
Post by: Tenzhi on May 28, 2013, 04:25:10 AM
Did anyone else catch this two episode premiere?  It's not bad, I guess, but it seems a step down from Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

No, sadly I don't get Disney HD or whatever channel it's on.  It's purpose appears to be to tie into the Marvel movies and keep interest alive in the movie properties until the next Avengers movie.  Lets not confuse the kiddies with something closer to the actual comic titles (ie Hawkeye's costume).

Same thing was tried with the FF cartoon that came out right after their 1st movie.  Keep the property in mind until the next film comes out.

I'll give it a solid meh.
As Tenzhi said, not bad but no EMH.

Looks like they are trying to duplicate Ultimate Spider-man.  Same tone, same Fury.  At least no chibis or smartass narration yet.  It could be worse but it could be better.

You don't need smartass narration, you have Tony.

No something we will never know is how much money is now going to the Marvel column of the ledger at Disney for all the movie, animation and TV tie-ins to those movie properties Vs good old comic book sales.  Not the compilations you can get at a bookstore I'm talking comic book store monthly comics.

I watched those two episodes.  Meh.  Definitely targeting a younger male audience who only "know" Marvel heroes though the movies.
